3 Ways to Wear a Summer Scarf

Hey y'all and happy Friday. It is a HAPPY Friday indeed because I am finished with all my exams and school and enjoying free time. I have gone out for breakfast with a friend, gone for a good run, laid out by the pool and watched old movies. I am LOVING summer so far!!

The other day I came home from work and my mom had found this adorable pom pom scarf from Michaels (in-store only)! I love small little scarfs like this that can be worn so many different ways.
I watched the movie Man in the Moon yesterday, mostly because I just love Reese Witherspoon, and she was so young in that movie! I have to say though that movie was SO sad oh my. I am always looking for good movie and TV show recommendations so PLEASE let me know your favorite Netflix or Prime finds!
I love this summer scarf tied around my neck, purse, or in my hair for something different! They are super trendy right now so keep an eye out for ones similar! I will link some similar ones below that I love!

I will talk to you very soon! I am so happy to be able to have more time to blog now that school is over!

Spontaneous Miscellaneous

Happy Friday everyone! That means it is time for a spontaneous miscellaneous post. Let's talk about some of my recent favorite things :)

My sister chopped her hair off and it is SO cute! To be honest though it does freak me out a tad because now we look so similar! So short and sassy!

ZOODLES ARE THE BEST! I wrote all about my obsession with zucchini noodles in this recipe post here. They are such a healthy alternative to regular spaghetti and actually taste really good!

Hidden Figures is an AMAZING movie. My sister and I went with some friend to see it opening day, and WOW it was brilliant. You know movies are good when they make you think about the story line and plot even after it is over. Watch the trailer here, and then GO SEE IT IN THEATERS!

I updated my iphone to an iphone 7 a few months ago and I completely forgot there is no headphone jack so I had to find bluetooth earbuds for running. These are absolutely fantastic for not too much money. No chord, no problem! Find them here.

Those are a few things I have been loving lately. What are some of your recent favorites?? Talk to you on Monday :)

Spontaneous Miscellaneous

Hey y'all! I am so confused on what day it is. As you may know, central Florida schools have been shut down for the last two days because of Hurricane Mathew. He made his way through Florida early this morning. I didn't get much sleep but that wasn't due to the fact of gusting winds and the possibility of natural disaster hanging over my head. No. It was due to a frog right outside my window ALL. NIGHT. LONG. Okay that may be an exaggeration but that stupid thing wouldn't SHUT UP! Y'all know that my biggest fears are snakes and frogs so in the midst of many Floridians loosing power, and experiencing complete chaos, I am having nightmares about frogs. Well.

Despite the whole reptile situation, I am feeling very blessed this morning. So many went without power, and many in Haiti have lost everything including the lives of family, friends and neighbors. Spend some time praying today y'all.

Now let's chat about some recent FAVS!

Oh my word this Author. This crazy lady just gets me. I understand that she is in her forty's and has kids my age but we could still easily be best friends. She has a southern humor and some of the funniest stories. This book is a total gem. Sophie Hudson talks about three examples in the bible where women were being mentored or being the mentors. She talked about the importance of cross-generational friendships and how important it is for women to have strong christian relationships with one another. This was very convicting, and very entertaining as well. Love this lady! Y'all need to read this book!

Meredith's Homecoming Hair & Makeup
I just have to take a second and tell y'all that my sister is a BEAUT! Her homecoming dance was last week and she looked stunning. Her and my mom went to pick out the dress, jewelry, and shoes (LOVED IT ALL) and I did her hair and makeup. Ain't she cute??

Hunter Rainboots for Girls
Many of you may follow Carly's blog (if you don't I am giving you an opportunity to redeem yourself and go follow her because you need to. You're welcome.) Y'all may not know however, that she has a YouTube channel where she does vlogs almost every day. As much as I love reading peoples blogs and scrolling through their pictures on Instagram, you start to really feel like you know them once you see a bit into their every day life. Carly is so fun to watch on all of her adventures.

Alrighty that's all for you today folks! I am going to get back in bed now and wait out the storm. Would say I will then help my dad pick up all the debris in the road and pool but after hearing that frog all night, I think I will stay inside for the day ;)

Talk to y'all soon! Have a great weekend!

Cute Dress, Cute Friends, & Life Update!

Hey gang! Sorry it's been a while. I haven't hardly been on my blog or social media all week. I had the stomach bug at the beginning of this week and my sister is finishing off the week with the flu so we have not been out taking pictures to say the least. We are both feeling a lot better now though :)
I love a goofy photo-shoot with friends!
I don't know if y'all will notice but I went and got my hair trimmed up nice and short again with some side bangs! I think this is my favorite way I do my hair. It's amazing how much a haircut can affect your mood :)
This dress is a FAVORITE! It is super cute for the heat Florida is still experiencing. However, almost all summer dresses can be paired with a denim jacket for this transition period between summer and fall.
Speaking of fall, I have a super awesome giveaway coming at the end of this month to kick off the Fall season. Y'all are gonna love it!
Today is another football Saturday so y'all know where I will be.. #couchpotato #aintmadatit

Have a great weekend! Talk to you soon!

Prom 2016!! + Tips & Tricks

This past weekend, a few of my best friends and I went to PROM!! I thought it would be fun to put some pictures up with little tips along the way!

Tip #1. BREAK IN THEM SHOES! If I were you I would put on socks and walk around in your prom shoes for a couple of days before the dance. Don't let the day of Prom be your first time in the pumps. Trust me!!!

Tip #2. Don't rush through pictures! This might sound like a no brainer but taking pictures and doing all the poses you want will take longer than you think. Allow extra time and pick a pretty location!
PS. How awesome did my sis do on these pictures!!

I used the Lorac Pro Palette for my eyes, Merle Norman makeup for my face, and Merle Norman lipstick as well. I have short hair so there wasn't much to do with it, but I did spend about 30 minutes making sure it was curly!
Tip #3. Overestimate how much time you will take to get ready. It is better to be waiting around with extra time then it is to be rushed!

Tip #4. HAVE FUN! I enjoyed my prom five times more than I thought I would and had a blast. Break it down sister, prom doesn't happen every day!

When is your prom? Hope you enjoyed seeing my snaps from the night! Talk to you soon!

New Hair, Instagram, The Bachelor | Life Update

GUUUYS! I have missed blogging over these past two weeks! Boy do we have lots to catch up on. First off, I apologize that I took a few weeks off of blogging. My immune system has been completely shot recently and I have had a nasty cold for two weeks straight. Not to mention, I had a ton of SAT preparing to do since I take that test in a few weeks. Any test day tips would be much appreciated.

In these pictures you may notice I got a hair cut! If you know me you know I love changing my hair ALL the time. I haven't however ever colored my hair. It is funny how I never want to ever dye my hair but am so daring when it comes to cutting it.

What are y'all up to this weekend? I will be going to DISNEY WORLD! I am about to pee myself with excitement about going to Magic Kingdom tomorrow. Even though I live only an hour from the most magical place on earth, it has been several years since I have been. Catch all the pictures on my Instagram over the next few days here.

After my Disney trip on Sunday, I will be spending my Monday night watching THE BACHELOR!! This coming week is hometown visits and I can not wait to see all these girls families and what Ben thinks.
Here are my main thoughts:
1. Ben is easily one of my favorite bachelors (next to Shawn and Catherine's season of course)
2. I think Lauren B. has a somewhat boring personality compared to the other girls but think he will pick her at the end and they are stinkin cute together.
3. I do love JoJo but I really hope that Caila is the next bachelorette. Hopefully she will share with us her hair secrets because she looks like she is straight out of a TRESemme commercial.

What are your thoughts of this season of the bachelor thus far? Who do you think will be the one standing in the end? Only a few more weeks :)

PHEW! Now that we are all caught up friends, I will see you soon! Expect plenty of blog posts coming soon!

Life Lately + Recent Favorites!

Happy Wednesday everyone! I wanted to share a few photos with you from my last week and share some favorites with you.
First off, my sister is stunning isn't she?? The picture below was her before she went to her freshman homecoming :) I sadly had to work and couldn't go to the dance but I had just enough time to do my sisters hair and makeup.

I have also switched skincare routines. I used to swear by Clinique and I still love their products. I do however now LOVE Cetephil skincare now because not only is it super cheap from the drugstore and really gentle on my skin.

Also a new favorite would be my new makeup! I am so obsessed with Merle Norman mineral powder foundation. It is more full coverage but natural looking and matches my skin PERFECTLY. Girl loves a good foundation!

Now for some of my restaurant favorites. I love Sweet and Sour Chicken from Pei Wei recently and basically all Japanese food in general also.

When it comes to jewelry, I love BIG hoops. With short hair, big earring really stand out.

What have y'all been liking lately?? Comment below or email me with all the details on your recent favs :) Talk to you Friday lovelies!

Pink and Navy Fashion Friday..

Good evening and HAPPY FASHION FRIDAY everyone! I hope you are all doing great and looking forward to a fantastic weekend. I will be babysitting this weekend and getting in a good bike ride and workout possibly. Is anyone else ready for spring break? I am counting down the days to break and I have a lot of great posts planned! You will have to wait and find out :) Sadly, that is a month away but Valentines is coming up soon so I want to hear what your plans are. I will probably stay in with a friend or two as we enjoy treating ourselves to some sweets and a chick flick, anyone with me??

Todays outfit I really like because pink and navy are my two favorite colors, and I love them together. Why not layer them right?? Both the striped shirt and sweater are from the Chaps collection in Kohl's so make sure to check them out. That is where I get all my layering pieces. I linked them in my last post which was my January favorites, so check that out as well. My necklace was a gift from a friend that she got at Charming Charlies, a HUGE and amazing accessory store. My headband is from Ulta and my brown riding boots are from a JCPenny sale.

Enjoy your weekend! Comment below or email me with any thoughts or questions. Goodnight!
