My Favorite Lip Products

Happy Tuesday friends! Life has been crazy as classes and work have picked up, but I am excited to be back on the blog. Today we are talking lipstick!
My Mama always told me that a lady never leaves the house without lipstick. I truly feel like wearing a good lipstick, makes the rest of your makeup and skin look so much better. I wouldn't be caught dead without lipstick on, ha. Okay that's a tad dramatic but you get the point.
I am going to be sharing my everyday lipstick along with some of my other favorite colors and formulas. Let's get to it.

Amazon Favorites | Fashion, Lifestyle, & Organization

Happy Monday! I am so excited for this blog post and can't believe that I haven't done a post like this before. I asked on my Instagram stories the other day if you would like to see some of my favorite Amazon purchases and y'all said yes! You clearly love Amazon as much as I do.
A lot of the items I am going to share are Amazon Prime meaning (if you have a Prime membership) that they will ship free and quickly.

Spontaneous Miscellaneous

Happy Friday y'all! I am so excited to share all my favorite things with you this week. I am sorry this post is coming to you later than usual, but I spent my day doing observation hours in a school and then came home and passed out. Y'all I must have needed the sleep (doubt it) because I don't even remember getting into bed. I was very confused 3 hours later.. HAHA! Oh well, it happens!

Don't forget to tell me your favorites from the week also y'all!

One // Sunrise on the BEACH!
Omg y'all I have so many pictures from this day and it was AMAZING! I have lived 45 minutes from the beach for years and have never gotten up to go watch the sunrise over the ocean and I do NOT know why. It was stunning. I love living so close to the ocean. Saltwater, a camera, and a good friend really is the best medication sometimes!

Two // Happy Death Day
Don't ask me how, but I was talked into going with a few co workers to see a scary movie on Friday the 13th. If you know me, you know I don't do scary.. like I just don't. However, I did hear that this movie was more of a mystery and it really wasn't too scary and wasn't gory at all which I appreciate. I am seeing it again with my sister on Saturday because I actually enjoyed it! Such a good movie to see right around Halloween time that isn't going to keep you from sleeping at night. :) Watch the Trailer here .. but then GO SEE IT!

Three // Clinique 3 Step Skincare System
I am so happy to be back with Clinique skincare. I took a break for a while and noticed my skin was getting worse and I was breaking out more often so I switched back to using it and I can already tell a huge difference in my skin. WAHOO! Shop the 3-step system here.

Four // Candy Corn Jello Dessert
Y'all I just made this a few hours ago and it took like 5 minutes! It does have to sit in the fridge for a while but it was so stinkin' cute and EASY! Here is a link to the recipe.

Well there you have my favorites from the week! I hope to hear y'alls favs too! Talk to you soon.

Spontaneous Miscellaneous

Hey y'all! I am so confused on what day it is. As you may know, central Florida schools have been shut down for the last two days because of Hurricane Mathew. He made his way through Florida early this morning. I didn't get much sleep but that wasn't due to the fact of gusting winds and the possibility of natural disaster hanging over my head. No. It was due to a frog right outside my window ALL. NIGHT. LONG. Okay that may be an exaggeration but that stupid thing wouldn't SHUT UP! Y'all know that my biggest fears are snakes and frogs so in the midst of many Floridians loosing power, and experiencing complete chaos, I am having nightmares about frogs. Well.

Despite the whole reptile situation, I am feeling very blessed this morning. So many went without power, and many in Haiti have lost everything including the lives of family, friends and neighbors. Spend some time praying today y'all.

Now let's chat about some recent FAVS!

Oh my word this Author. This crazy lady just gets me. I understand that she is in her forty's and has kids my age but we could still easily be best friends. She has a southern humor and some of the funniest stories. This book is a total gem. Sophie Hudson talks about three examples in the bible where women were being mentored or being the mentors. She talked about the importance of cross-generational friendships and how important it is for women to have strong christian relationships with one another. This was very convicting, and very entertaining as well. Love this lady! Y'all need to read this book!

Meredith's Homecoming Hair & Makeup
I just have to take a second and tell y'all that my sister is a BEAUT! Her homecoming dance was last week and she looked stunning. Her and my mom went to pick out the dress, jewelry, and shoes (LOVED IT ALL) and I did her hair and makeup. Ain't she cute??

Hunter Rainboots for Girls
Many of you may follow Carly's blog (if you don't I am giving you an opportunity to redeem yourself and go follow her because you need to. You're welcome.) Y'all may not know however, that she has a YouTube channel where she does vlogs almost every day. As much as I love reading peoples blogs and scrolling through their pictures on Instagram, you start to really feel like you know them once you see a bit into their every day life. Carly is so fun to watch on all of her adventures.

Alrighty that's all for you today folks! I am going to get back in bed now and wait out the storm. Would say I will then help my dad pick up all the debris in the road and pool but after hearing that frog all night, I think I will stay inside for the day ;)

Talk to y'all soon! Have a great weekend!

Prom 2016!! + Tips & Tricks

This past weekend, a few of my best friends and I went to PROM!! I thought it would be fun to put some pictures up with little tips along the way!

Tip #1. BREAK IN THEM SHOES! If I were you I would put on socks and walk around in your prom shoes for a couple of days before the dance. Don't let the day of Prom be your first time in the pumps. Trust me!!!

Tip #2. Don't rush through pictures! This might sound like a no brainer but taking pictures and doing all the poses you want will take longer than you think. Allow extra time and pick a pretty location!
PS. How awesome did my sis do on these pictures!!

I used the Lorac Pro Palette for my eyes, Merle Norman makeup for my face, and Merle Norman lipstick as well. I have short hair so there wasn't much to do with it, but I did spend about 30 minutes making sure it was curly!
Tip #3. Overestimate how much time you will take to get ready. It is better to be waiting around with extra time then it is to be rushed!

Tip #4. HAVE FUN! I enjoyed my prom five times more than I thought I would and had a blast. Break it down sister, prom doesn't happen every day!

When is your prom? Hope you enjoyed seeing my snaps from the night! Talk to you soon!

Life Lately + Recent Favorites!

Happy Wednesday everyone! I wanted to share a few photos with you from my last week and share some favorites with you.
First off, my sister is stunning isn't she?? The picture below was her before she went to her freshman homecoming :) I sadly had to work and couldn't go to the dance but I had just enough time to do my sisters hair and makeup.

I have also switched skincare routines. I used to swear by Clinique and I still love their products. I do however now LOVE Cetephil skincare now because not only is it super cheap from the drugstore and really gentle on my skin.

Also a new favorite would be my new makeup! I am so obsessed with Merle Norman mineral powder foundation. It is more full coverage but natural looking and matches my skin PERFECTLY. Girl loves a good foundation!

Now for some of my restaurant favorites. I love Sweet and Sour Chicken from Pei Wei recently and basically all Japanese food in general also.

When it comes to jewelry, I love BIG hoops. With short hair, big earring really stand out.

What have y'all been liking lately?? Comment below or email me with all the details on your recent favs :) Talk to you Friday lovelies!

Mally City Chick I Love Color Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Angel Wings, Lavender Glow, Pop Art Blue, Sweet Samba

Pretty Lady, Fantasy Green, Soho Silver, Plum Glow

Mally's Glow, Denim, Skyscraper

Good afternoon everyone! How are y'all doing?? It has been a hot minute since I did a makeup review so I thought I would show you a little peek at a new palette I picked up. I haven't heard anyone talk about this product much but when I saw it in Ulta I loved it. This is the Mally City Chick I Love Color Palette. Mally is a famous makeup artist and I absolutely love her makeup line. I have talked about her primer before and how much I love it and I am now obsessed with her eye shadows.

The main reason I liked this palette opposed to many of the other ones in the store was that it was different. I knew I didn't want another palette with more browns and gold's. I wanted some different colors that were still wearable. This palette achieved that perfectly.

My Grading:
Packaging: 10/10- This is the perfect packaging for me! It is compact enough to travel well and has a busy pattern so it doesn't show dirt. Perfect!
Pigmentation: 8/10- Many of the shimmer and sheen shadows are fantastic but the shades that are almost matte tend to be harder to pick up on a brush.
Longevity: 9/10- The colors last a while on me with my Clinique primer, but I have never tried the shadow base this palette has in it. I am not sure how long it would last with it though.
Final Verdict: 9/10- Overall this palette is great! There are one or two shades that are harder to work with but the rest are fantastic. If you are looking for something a little different to wear on your eyes but don't want to look like a clown, this is for you ;)

Laura Geller Baked Highlighter Duo Review

Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well, and are having a great hump day :) It feels like forever since I have done a beauty review but I am here today with a product that I LOVE. I am talking about the Laura Geller Baked Highlighter Duo. This isn't a product that I have heard anything about ever, but let me tell you, it is a great product. My mom bought it and used it on herself and after seeing it on her, I found myself going into her bathroom and using it on myself pretty often. My mom went and bought me the product so I would stop using hers and I use it now every day.

Whatever Wednesday

I hope this review was helpful! Comment below or email me any thoughts or questions and I will talk to you all on Friday for some Fashion!

January Favorites!

It is here!! I haven't done a favorites post in WAY too long. Many of you said you would like to see one when I asked on my Fashion Friday post a week or two and I have to say this month I have quite a few things I am loving. I hope y'all enjoy reading about my favs this month and let me know what your favorites were in January or if you have tried any of these out! Enjoy!

Beauty

Mally Perfect Prep Poreless Primer Glow- Wow that is a lot of P's! Ha! I have been using this primer for the past month and out of all the ones I tried on my hands in Ulta this was BY FAR the softest. It keeps my makeup for a really long time and cancels out any redness or blemishes. I use the Glow color; because they didn't have the regular in stock; it does give you a natural healthy glow but it isn't anything that a little powder won't cancel out if you want a matte look. Such a nice brand of makeup.
Clinique Superpowder Double Face Makeup- This powder is my ULTIMATE favorite face powder. I did a full review of this powder combined with my Clinique liquid foundation (here). I went into full detail about the product and all its amazing features but bottom line: this will make your skin look porcelain it is so pretty!
Ulta Brows- I couldn't find this product on their website but Ulta has a wide variety of great brow powders that look sleek but natural at the same time. You don't have to spend a fortune to get great brow products!
Ulta Single Eye shadows- I rarely by single eye shadows because they are usually too expensive just for one but let me tell you, Ulta has great single eye shadows. They are super pigmented and smooth on your eyes. Not to mention, they have so many different colors to choose from! These are cheap and great.

Hair

Headbands- I have been loving cute, stylish, and sparkly headbands recently. Ulta actually has a great variety so check them out there!

Fashion

Silver Monogram Necklace- I wear this almost every day now because it is SO cute. I got mine for Christmas off of Etsy.com so if you search monogram necklace there are a TON that pop up. Mine is in sterling silver and I get tons of compliments on it!
Brown Monogram Clutch- Again I received this for Christmas off Etsy.com but I linked the exact shop. Very cute accessory, I am sure you all have seen in my Fashion Fridays posts!
Houndstooth Scarf- I love scarfs during the winter and this houndstooth one is no exception! I adore it and it is such a statement.
Layering Clothing- Are we surprised?? I think all of you know that I ADORE layering my clothes and find it is ever so preppy and cute! I linked this to where I pick up most of my layered clothing!
Brown and Black Riding Boots- Again, are we surprised? There were very few fashion posts this fall and winter that didn't include the boots! My brown ones were on sale at JCPennys, and my black ones I got from Shoe Carnival. Both are super comfortable and stylish.

Nails

Jamberry Nails- These are my new found obsession! I did a full review of the nails (here) where you can read more about how easily they are applied. They are super cheap for as many nail wraps as you get, they stay on for weeks, don't damage your nails, and come in a THOUSAND cute designs. Definitely click on the title for the link and you will instantly want to buy a hundred I promise! The ones pictured were part of their Christmas collection, but they have a lot of other great ones and I may have just ordered some new ones you will see soon!

Songs
Taylor Swift's New Album- Life is too short to pretend you don't like groovy Taylor Swift songs right? Her new album is full of catchy tunes that get stuck in my head all day!
A Woman Like You By: Lee Brice- AH! I love this man and his music. I just love country music and the story that every song tells and this one in particular melts my heart! So cute and catchy!

T.V / Movies
Switched at Birth is back!!- You may or may not know that Switched at Birth is my FAVORITE show but a while ago when there was the season finale and no new episodes came on I kind of freaked out, but then they returned and I am loving this season so far! Watch on ABC Family every Tuesday night!
Bringing up Bates- This is a reality TV show about a family with 19 kids of all ages and to be honest I would so love to meet them and just come to a family dinner with them. They crack me up and their southern accents, jokes, and Christian faith remind me of my family just in a larger quantity! It is so nice to see clean TV shows on!
Scandal- After hearing a lot of people talking about it I decided to start it on Netflix and it is captivating. I wish I had a brain like Olivia Pope and was quick whited like her :) I usually love crime and investigation shows so this is straight up my alley!
Annie- I went to go see this movie in theaters and it was quite cute! I didn't write a full review on it because it wasn't anything to write home about, however, I thought it was quite cute and made for a fun little movie outing.
Unbroken- You can read my full review (here) but you should know that this is a very depressing and deep, dark film. It does however portray the true story quite nicely and is DEFINITELY worth seeing! I linked the trailer to the title so you should check that out.

Books

The Selection Series- I did a full review of this series (here) but you should read these books because they are so addicting and an AWESOME romance without being to mushy and cliché. I would have to say this is my favorite series of books I have ever read.

Food

Sweet Potatoe Chips- These are my new favorite chips ever! I wish they came in a bigger bag :) I get them at my local Publix, Whole Foods, or Fresh Market. I usually hate Sweet Potatoes but the taste of these all natural chips is seriously amazing. They aren't bad for you like normal potato chips so if you can find these in your stores try them!
Spinach and Kale Chips- I know these sound like they would taste awful but they are actually quite tasty. They taste mostly just like a little salt. The only ingredients are kale, spinach, and salt so they are super natural and healthy! They taste super good too.

Activity
Yoga- I have been loving Cara Stiles and her easy yoga videos. It is so weird because watching it, you would thing it would be easy but you break a sweat pretty fast. It is super relaxing and makes me feel nice and refreshed after doing it though! I linked my daily yoga video in the title so click to watch it.
Tone It Up Blog and Videos- I joined the Tone It Up Blog and I love these girls! They are so fit and so fun. Their website which I linked in the title, gives daily workouts and has a ton of recipes which are all super healthy and delicious and their YouTube channel (here) is where they share their vlogs and workout videos. They're so inspiring and will make you want to live a healthier and more active lifestyle (not to mention their workouts totally kick my butt!!). My favorite workout by one of them is the Kettle Toning (here). Check them out, you will be hooked!

Random

Gel Pens- Who doesn't love writing with these fun colorful gel pens? They make taking notes SO much more fun. Why not have 100 of these guys? My mom found this rotating contraption of gel pens at Cosco (go figure, because everything there is huge!) and I use them all the time now. It makes homework so much more interesting and all my teachers know which paper is mine now!

Hope you guys enjoyed this massive favorites post! Comment or email me with any thoughts or questions!
