Spontaneous Miscellaneous + The Highs and Lows of Life

Happy Friday everyone. I hope you are all having a great week and are excited for the weekend.
My week has been an emotional rollercoaster and frankly, I am glad it is over.
My contract with the company I work with was coming to an end this week and even though I know I am good at my job, I was nervous for my evaluation. It was stressing me out not knowing if I was going to be job hunting soon. Thankfully however, I passed my evaluation with flying colors and had my contract extended. I love teaching English to these students and am so happy I get to keep on doing something I look forward to every morning.

The second half of my week however, wasn't quite as happy. For the last several weeks, including the week of my spring break, I have spent all my time studying for something called the General Knowledge Test. This is the first of three exams teachers are required to take in Florida in order to move forward with their college classes and become certified. This test, differently from the last two I will have to take, has absolutely nothing to do with teaching. Stupid right? I was so nervous I couldn't sleep and sadly, I didn't pass every section of the exam. I threw a pity party for myself yesterday and honestly, felt really defeated. It is hard when you are excited, passionate, and qualified to do something and a test of math is holding you back.

I know blogs and social media can often times make everyone's life seem perfect and so I feel it is important to share when we fail. Life isn't perfect and things don't always turn out how we want them to, but we have to buckle down and keep working towards what we want. Next month, I will try again, and in the mean time, I will keep studying and keep praying about it.

I am in a much better mood today than I was yesterday and want to share some of my recent favorite moments, people, and things with you.

One // Bachelor Finale & New Bachelorette
Was it weird for anyone else not watching The Bachelor this past Monday? It is always so weird when it ends. This finale felt so weird and anticlimactic. I wasn't sure the whole season that Cassie was really in love with him, but have to say they looked happy after the show was over. Maybe they'll work out, but I'm not putting money on it.
What I was excited about was to hear that Hannah Beast is the BACHELORETTE! I was so excited they picked her because I thought the whole season she was weird, funny, spunky, and original. It has been a long time since someone like that has been the lead. I hope she picks up the pace when she is talking, but think it will be an interesting season. What was your reaction to the news?

Y'all need to follow this dog on Instagram. There is a sentence I have never typed on this blog. Ha. This account has some of the funniest videos and the captions the owner puts on the videos of her dog make me think she can actually understand him. So funny. I want a dog now please.

Three // Solar Bears Jersey
Last week my family went to an Orlando Solar Bears hockey game and my parents got me a jersey for my birthday (which is in a few weeks). I was glowing all night. I just love hockey and the environment. It is a cool temperature, family friendly, and packed with action. The jersey made it all that much better. I was put on the jumbotron several times, the mascot came and sat next to me, and we killed our opponent. Is all of that due to my awesome hot pink jersey? Um, I think so.

Four // Foxtail Coffee
A new Foxtail Coffee opened near me and my sister and I couldn't be happier. The environment is cozy and the coffee is exceptional. We love having study dates here and can't wait to try more of their funky drinks. If you live in the Central Florida area, you need to find one near you too.

Five // March Madness

Have you filled out your bracket yet? Mine is ready! We do one within our family and the losers have to chip in to buy the winner ice cream at the end. It's high stakes around here. Who do you have going all the way? I love basketball!

Someone I follow on Instagram posted a link to this video and I just had to share it. The term "influencer" seems to be going around and I love his view on this. You need to watch it!

Well what have you been up to and loving lately? I hope you have a great weekend. I have exciting posts coming next week and can't wait to chat more. Talk soon.

xoxo
