Little Poof & Curls Hair Tutorial

Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well this week. I went back to school yesterday so I am kind of bummed that winter break is over. Did y'all go back to school also? One of my New Years resolutions was to stay more organized and manage my time better to where I can focus a lot on my school work and improve my content here on my blog. If I stay organized I know I can do it.

Today I am posting quite a different post for y'all! I am sharing a little hair tutorial which I am not sure I have done before on my blog. I used my sister as my beautiful model of course because she has gorgeous hair that is super easy to work with and also because my hair is too short to show anything. This hair style is super cute for everyday if you wanted to make them loose curls or you could really make it fancy for any event. This is the hair style I chose to do:

What you will need:
-Hair Brush
-Teasing brush (you could use your normal hair brush but I find these are more smooth. They are about 3$ at Sally Beauty Supply)
-A Curling Wand (See the one we used here)
-Hairspray

Step 1:
You want to brush through your hair first that way there aren't any knots or pieces that wont cooperate with the curling wand.

Step 2:
Separate your hair into sections/ layers. My sister and I both have super thick hair so when doing more tight curls like these, I find that sectioning her hair into 3 sections across her head, works best.

Step 3:
Start curling pieces of hair about 1inch. I am not super precise about the size of the piece because the more random they are, the more natural the curls will look in the end. Another tip for this would be to buy a wand that is even all the way down. This curling wand is a 1 inch curling wand and the pieces definitely look more natural using this kind. You want to hold the hair on the wand for about five-seven seconds and release it and let it cool off before running your fingers through it.

Step 4:
Do you know how after you curl your hair in sections like this, when you release it the hair often looks like the curls all start from the same part of your head and don't look as natural? The way to fix that is to take tiny pieces of hair from the top of your head and curl them for a few seconds from the very root of your head that way you have curls of all sizes and it looks a little less fake.

Step 5:
Once you have lightly hair sprayed the hair and run your fingers through the curls to loosen them up, you are going to grab the top section of hair near your crown and you are going to pull it up in your hand. You then will spray the back of the hair and start teasing/ backcombing that section of hair. Don't be afraid to really go to town on this, it will calm down after a while.

Step 6:
You will then take a skinny pony tail holder and put that little section through it practically on top of your head. It will fell weird at first but it the end it looks adorable! You can go in afterwards and tease the hair in the little ponytail so that it sticks up more a little bit. And don't forget to add a lot of hairspray at the end to lock it all in place!

Tada!!!
This is what it will look like in the end! A super cute and adorable little poof to change it up a little. Again, you can adjust the curls to your liking but I love how it turned out on my sister and as you know I love styling other people and treating her like my little Barbie doll! Doesn't she look gorgeous??
