Home (in Florida) for the Holidays!

Hello and happy Sunday everyone! I can't believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner. This year is flying by, but I am so thrilled to start talking about Christmas. Fall is always a confusing time for Florida weather, but come "winter", it is gorgeous here. 70 and sunny is just what this Florida girl likes. Where else can you get a tan at the beach in December?

I wanted to share a few ideas of Christmas festivities to do here in Florida. If you are looking to move to the Florida area or plan to visit this holiday season, keep reading!

Christmas Lights

This is a great activity to do in any state, but Florida really does have some great spots to see beautiful lights. The theme parks are an obvious choice, but driving around and seeing other areas is just as exciting. There are some beautiful old homes for sale in Riverdale that are gorgeous to see this time of year. The Space Coast in Melbourne is also known for decorating with gorgeous lights each Christmas.

Visit the Theme Parks

Florida is not short on theme park experiences, so if you want to have some fun this season, look no further. Because of Covid, many parks aren't doing quite as elaborate celebrations or events as they typically do, but many still have exciting things planned and going on. Disney World is always fun this time of year and they decorate beautifully. The Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party is not happening this year, but they still have festive parades, decorations, and treats to enjoy right now. Universal, Legoland, Busch Gardens and Seaworld will also have Christmas decorations and festivities to enjoy. I can't wait to go to Seaworld here soon to take it all in!

Christmas at Gaylord Palms

The Gaylord Palms always does a phenomenal job each Christmas with their ICE experience and more! This year, they are doing an I Love Christmas Movies Pop-Up Experience where all of your favorite Christmas movies come to life! This sounds so fun and they are taking plenty of safety precautions to make guests feel comfortable and safe. ELF is included in the experience, which is my favorite movie, so I am SO in!

Watch Parades on the Water

Here in Florida we love to see Santa come by on a water parade! You can catch him in Winter Park, St. Augustine, Key West, and many more! If you are anywhere in Florida, chances are, there is a Christmas Parade on water near you.

Have a Christmas Day at Home

My sister and I had a festive day last week where we drank warm festive drinks, wrapped presents, decorated our rooms, and enjoyed Christmas music. This is such an easy and safe option to enjoying the holidays this year regardless of where you are. Everyone deserves to have a  home to spend the holidays in. If you are looking for a home this holiday season, Coldwell Banker Vanguard Realty, Erin E. King,  is a trustworthy realtor wanting to help! He is a Ramsey endorsed realtor, and we all know how much I love Dave Ramsey, ha!

Make Christmas Crafts

My sister and I thought it was so fun to browse Michaels and Target for fun crafts to do this time of year. We found some plain ornaments that we are going to paint. There are also all kinds of kits for kids to complete that frankly, would be fun for adults as well!

Watch Christmas Movies Outside

The wonderful thing about Florida this time of year is the weather! It is likely to be in the 60's many nights during December, so blowing up a large screen in the backyard to watch Christmas movies with some hot cocoa or smores, is the perfect plans! My favorite Christmas movies are ELF and the Home Alone movies! Which movie is your favorite?

Bake Christmas Treats

I have shared some delicious Christmas treats over the years that I highly recommend. These Snickerdoodle Cookies are magnificent and I make them every year. They're always a huge hit with friends and family. I also love making Reindeer Chow. It is truly the best snack to munch on while watching Christmas movies... maybe double the recipe, ha! What is your favorite treat or dessert to bake during the holiday season? Leave it below in the comments so I can try it out!

What are your plans this Christmas and holiday season? Let me know in the comments below! There are plenty more Christmas posts to come, so I will talk to you soon.

xoxo
