Pretzel Recipe

Happy Saturday y'all! Today I am sharing a recent FAVORITE recipe of mine. Now you already know me and bread have a very good and healthy relationship... in other words "I LOVE BREAD"- Oprah. I have been trying to bake more things that aren't so sweet so I thought a homemade, soft, salty, and doughy pretzel would do the trick.
Have a safe and happy weekend!

Homemade Pretzel
Yeild: 2 Large Pretzels
Ingredients:
For the Dough:
2 1/2 cups All-Purpse Flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
1 cup warm water
For the Topping:
1 cup boiling water
2 tablespoons baking soda
kosher or pretzel salt
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Directions:
Combine all the dough ingredients in a large bowl and stir until combined. Knead the dough with your hands for about 5 minutes. Place the dough in a bag and allow it to rest for 30 minutes.
While the dough is resting prepare the topping by combining the boiling water and baking soda until the soda is totally dissolved. Set this aside and let cool until room temperature.
Preheat your oven to 475 F. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
Transfer the dough to a work surface and divide it into two equal pieces.
Allow the pieces to rest for 5 minutes.
Roll each piece of dough in a long thin rope and twist into a pretzel shape. Then place each pretzel in the baking soda water mixture and let sit for 2 minutes in the mixture.
Transfer the pretzels to your baking sheet, sprikle with salt, and let rest for another 10 minutes.
Place your pretzels in the oven and allow to bake for about 8-12 minutes.
Remove the pretzels from the oven and brush them with melted butter until the butter is all gone.
Enjoy!
