Picnic Style with Watermelon Lemonade!

Happy Friday y'all! Like I mentioned in my latest blog post, I decided to take my first week of summer off from social media and blogging. It was SO refreshing. You never realize how much of your life is consumed by social media until you go without it. During this week I have read through a book completely, improved my long distance running time, prayed longer, kept my room clean, got a nice tan, made a bucket list, and finished an entire season of Once Upon A Time on Netflix... almost two (PS. I am now obsessed with this show.. like majorly OBSESSED!).
I think it is needless to say that it is necessary to take a mental health vacation every once and a while. I realized something incredible too when I returned to the media world... you were all still here. My followers didn't go anywhere. Amazing right? One week won't ruin you. I encourage all my blogger babes to take a week off from it all. If you are like me, you will come back even more motivated with a thousand more ideas. I am so thrilled for all the summer posts I have planned!
Okay enough of my rambling. Today we are making the most refreshing summer drink...
...Watermelon Lemonade!!! This drink is the perfect mix of sweet and sour and there is no other word to describe it other than refreshing. Double this recipe.. y'all will want more than one pitchers worth ;)
A summer beverage this tasty will leave you giddy!
Watermelon Lemonade
Ingredients:
About 6 cups cubed seedless watermelon, chilled
4 cups cold water
3/4 cup fresh strained lemon juice, chilled (this takes about 4-6 lemons)
2/3 cup granulated sugar (add a smidge more if you like.. I'm all about the sugah')
Ice and fresh mint for serving

Directions:
Add your watermelon to a blender and blend until well pureed. Pour though a sieve or strainer into a bowl. (This is important or else your lemonade might be a bit thick!)
In your large pitcher mix together water, lemon juice, and sugar until sugar has fully dissolved.
Stir in your watermelon puree.
Store in the refrigerator.
Serve with ice and mint once your guests have arrived.

Summer is off to a great start. My plans for the whole summer aren't set in stone quite yet but I plan on doing a few local adventures I have never gotten around too, along with traveling to some other states as well. Can't wait to share everything with you. Email me or comment with what you have marked on your summer bucket list... I would love some good ideas.

Talk to you soon!

xoxo
