Perm Story/ About My Hair

Though I have never dyed my hair, my hair sure has been cut every way possible and I have tried using just about every product imaginable. My hair has been super oily for the past year or so and I have tried everything I could to stop it. However my scalp was also very dry and flaky so when I bought a shampoo to give moisture to my scalp it made my hair more oily, but when I bought products to dry up my hair, my scalp would only get more flaky and dry. I tried certain shampoos, I gave up conditioners, I used dry shampoos on the days I didn't wash my hair, and I even went to a dermatologist and bought several shampoos he gave me. Finally, the dermatologist just said "Get a perm!!" My Grandpa and my Momma all had the same issue as me and the only thing that stopped their oily hair and dry scalp was a perm.

This past week I decided that I would go ahead and give it a shot. I can honestly say it was a life saver!! I had the lady give me a body wave perm which means she gave me big waves rather than kinky tight small curls. I only wash my hair about every 3 days and when I do, I wash it at night, go straight to bed, and wake up and have wavy hair! Not only is my hair not oily and my scalp is no longer dry, but I have volume in my hair and it holds wave and curl now for a day and a half! That is saying a lot considering that my hair used to only hold curl for at tops 2 hours. Most days I wake up and spray some sea salt spray in it or curl a few pieces and boom! I have beach waves!

If you have the same problems I did, maybe a perm is the solution for you too!
