My Favorite Books of 2019!!

Hi everyone! Long time no chat on here! I have been away from the blog for a few weeks and am happy to be back on here. I have been living a lot of real life and having a lot of fun over the holidays that blogging took a back seat. I have been keeping up with y'all on Instagram, so if you don't follow me there, you totally should. (;
I am so excited to share my FAVORITE books of 2019! This year I read 43 books which feels like a big accomplishment. I did want to aim for 52 (one per week) but am happy with how many I've read. I read a wide variety of genres this year and really liked a lot of the books I read. Narrowing it down was hard, but without further ado... MY FAVORITES OF THE YEAR:

#5: American Royals by Katharine McGee
I finished this book over winter break recently and it got 5 stars from me! I am a royal nerd and love learning about royal families, so this felt right up my alley. This is the story of Beatrice, the first female that will soon be the heir to the throne of America. We learn about her family, romance, and secrets.
This book is set in an alternate reality where America has a royal family. I loved the history of the world McGee created and LOVED so many of the characters. This one does leave you on a bit of a cliff hanger because book two comes out in 2020, so be prepared to feel very mad after you read it, ha!

#4: Two Can Keep A Secret by: Karen McManus
I read this book near the beginning of the year and can still remember many details of this storyline. When you read 43 books in a year and a story line really sticks with you, you know it's a good one. This young adult thriller is about a picture-perfect small town that is hiding many secrets. Generations ago a homecoming queen was murdered, and now years later it has happened again.

I still remember the final lines of this book because I was SHOOK. I highly recommend this one y'all!

#3: The Accidental Beauty Queen by Teri Wilson
This is one of those fluffy books you can read in one sitting. I normally don't remember books like this because they are fluffy and meant to be just a fun, quick read, but this one was so cute!! I made my mom and sister read it and they both loved it as well. It is just one of those super cute girly reads that makes you happy. I want this book to be turned into a Hallmark movie!

This is the story of two twin sisters. One is perfectly content being an elementary school librarian and living her life vicariously through characters in books. The other sister is a pageant queen, who is always striving for the next title. The librarian ends up having to fill in for her twin sister in an upcoming pageant and chaos ensues.

This isn't a super deep novel and is quite cheesy but I could just read it again and again. I highly recommend!

#2: Lock Every Door by Riley Sager
I was completely captivated by this book. The setting and characters are so interesting and the story line is plain creepy.

This book is about a girl that is hired to apartment sit in a super expensive apartment building with a lot of secrets. People are disappearing on the job and our main character is determined to figure out what is up with this place.

AGH THIS ONE IS SO GOOD!!! GO read it NOW!!!

MY #1 BOOK(s) OF THE YEAR: The If I Run Series by Terri Blackstock
This mystery thriller series is BY FAR my favorite of the year. My mom started this series before I did and I immediately started it after seeing how enthralled she was in these books. There are three books and I think we finished all three in less than two full days. We were OBSESSED and still are. I remember being mad at my eyes for not being about to read this series any faster.

You can read the description of the book here because I don't want to butcher any part of it. Take my word for it go get all three books now!!!!!!!!!!

Well there you have it friends. What was your favorite read of the year? Let me know. I always like taking your suggestions and seeing what you're loving.

I will talk to you soon.

xoxo
