I am sure from the title you are all a bit confused as I would be too but let me explain. As you may or may not know I have embarked on a little (okay huge) 7 month journey taking me through different "challenges" if you will, that help me catch a glimpse into those who suffer without something I take for granted. This month that would be hot showers. I know this sounds crazy but have you ever thought about how much we take our hot water or even access to clean water for granted?
I came across this article yesterday and read about the lack of clean water in Haiti and how it is the leading cause of death in the country and many more. Meanwhile I take 20 minute hot showers. Because going a month without drinking clean water probably wasn't the healthiest option for me I have decided to take 7 minute cold showers for the month of August in hopes of becoming more appreciative of the hot water I use to wash my hands, clean dishes, make coffee, etc..
After only 3 days I can tell you that getting a 7 minute shower isn't too hard when it is that freezing. (Not to mention, my dad is totally going to love the water bill this month)
Don't miss a single update on this 7 journey, and catch up here. Comment below or email me with any thoughts or questions.
