Unbroken Movie Review + Weekly Devotion!

Good evening everybody... Guess what todays post is? A movie review! I haven't done one in forever so I thought it was time I shared one on here again. I went yesterday to finally see the movie Unbroken which is an unbelievable true story that is also a book. This is an incredible story about a journey that is unfathomable and forgiveness that can only come from God. This is the story of Louis Zamperini, an American World War II soldier in the American Air Force who survived not only 47 days in a raft at sea after his plane crashed but over 2 years in a Japanese prison camp where he experienced multiple forms of terrible torture. Because he was an Olympic athlete, he was used as propaganda and saved from execution but stood out and experienced extra and more torturous means of violence. He was released after the war ended and returned home. Years later, Louis came to forgive the Japanese and returned there to personally meet with many of the guards that caused him physical and mental scaring; something that after I saw his experience in the movie, could only come from God. He admits that it was God who saved him and has helped him move on. The movie obviously cant capture the entire life story like the book attempts too but it is definitely worth seeing. Check it out before it leaves theaters.

What does the bible say about forgiveness?
"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Ephesians 4:32

"And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins." Mark 11:25

God teaches us that he has already forgiven us of everything that we have done, things we are doing, and things we will do in the future and he has already died the most brutal death so that we can be forgiven. If he can forgive all the terrible things we have done then we can forgive this one grudge correct?

Remember: Forgiveness is unlocking the door to set someone free and realizing you were the prisoner.

I am sure Louis would 100% agree as he has stated in his own words multiple times.
Enjoy this week and I will talk to y'all very soon :)
