Perseverance Through Hard Times - Weekly Devotion

Hi everyone and happy Monday. As a lot of us are starting school or work back soon or maybe we have already started we all know that this new year will not only hold great surprises but bad ones as well. I hate to be the Debby Downer here but everyone always says that they are going to have a positive outlook on life in the new year but yet when we face the first hard thing we quit on positivity and more importantly quit on God. We think that when we go through bad things that God is punishing us or doesn't care about us but if you have read through the bible you would know that this is farthest from the truth.

James 1:2-3 says "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance."

Always remember that olives have to be crushed to become oil and sometimes we have to go through something rough also to become better and to become stronger. This is easier said then done but know that when you do go through struggles this year that God isn't punishing you and sticking by him through it all will only make it better and easier to cope with.

This was just a quick devotion to start off the new year but I have plenty more devotion posts coming on the Mondays to follow so make sure you check in (: Comment or email with any questions or thoughts! Talk to you soon.
