What does real beauty look like?

What if….

….. we believed God made us in his own image

……God sees us, his creation as very good

Imagine how powerful and confident Christians would be if we truly believed that because God made us we are beautiful and we are a masterpiece.

Romans 9:20- “But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it ‘Why did you make me like this’?”

How do you think God feels when we think badly of ourselves or don’t feel good enough?

Kylie Bisutti wrote a book called Im No Angel. Kylie Bisutti used to be a Victoria Secret model however after seeing all the fake things they did to make her look the way she did, she decided to quit because she wanted to be someone that girls could actually look up to. There you have it from a Victoria Secret model herself, none of the stuff you see in magazines and movies is real so stop coveting and envying something that doesn’t exist.

Galatians 6:4- “Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else.”

The minute you start comparing is the minute you become discontent.

When you love everything you have, you have everything you need.

This topic is specifically something I struggle with and I have to constantly pray for contentment. Because I am so obsessed with makeup and fashion it is easy to compare myself to others and want more things. I have to remind myself that real beauty is what’s on the inside. I have committed to memory the verse Galatians 6:4 and I challenge you to do the same.

Peanut Butter Cupcakes Recipe (Gluten and Dairy Free)

I baked these cupcakes the other day and my whole family reported that they were a hit! Could be my best recipe yet! These are super easy to make and don't require too much equipment, meaning not a huge clean up which is definitely important for me! I am allergic to gluten and I am lactose intolerant so I altered these cupcakes to my needs however you can make these completely normal as well.

Ingredients:

- 1/3 cup of butter
- 1/2 cup of peanut butter
- 1 1/4 cup of packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 2 cups of all purpose flour (I used gluten free flour but you can use normal flour as well)
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 3/4 cup of milk (I use Lactaid milk since I am lactose intolerant however if you have an allergy to milk all together you can use almond milk.)
- Buttercream Frosting (I used Publix frosting because I think it is delicious however if you would rather make your own buttercream frosting, be my guest)
- Reese's Buttercups (You can kind of eye ball how much you want depending on how many crumbles you want on top. You can use dark chocolate Reese's if you are lactose intolerant.)

Directions
- In a large bowl, cream the butter, peanut butter, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
-Beat in egg and vanilla
- Combine the dry ingredients in a bowl
- Add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture alternating with your milk
-Beat well after each addition
- Fill paper-lined muffin cups two thirds full. (As you can see I kind of overloaded the cups so several of my cupcakes ended up exploding and making a mess so stick to the directions!)
-Bake at 350 degrees for 18-22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
- Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans and another 10 minutes after removed.

Frosting:
- While the cupcakes are cooling put your Reese's in a zip lock bag in the refrigerator
- Once you have simply frosted your cupcakes take your hands and mash up the Reese's before sprinkling them on top

VOILA!! You have a delicious peanut butter Reese's cupcake that is bound to put a smile on your face and on the faces of those eating it with you!

MARCH 2014 FAVS!

It is time for my monthly favorites! This month went by super fast however I do have a few things I have been LOVING and can't wait to share with you! Lets see em'!

Makeup/ Beauty:

Revlon PhotoReady Skinlights Face Illuminator - This has been something I recently decided to purchase and I instantly fell in love with it! This product is known for leaving a seamless glow to the skin. You can either put it on before foundation, mixed with foundation, or in replacement of foundation for a healthy glow. I have used it for all of the above! Great for giving you that Jennifer Lopez glowing look.

Clinique Curl Mascara - This mascara has been a favorite of mine for more like a year but since this is my first favorites post I decided to include it! I have been loving Clinique since I was 12 years old and they are certainly known for their mascaras and how long wearing they are. This one is my favorite out of all of their mascaras because it makes my eyelashes really noticeable! This product is the bomb!

Fashion/ Nail Polish:

Vera Bradley Black Wristlet- This wristlet has made life extremely easy when going somewhere quick. I recommend this for when you are going somewhere and you just need your phone and some money. There is even some slots for cards and a pouch for change. This wristlet has been coming everywhere with me and I want one in every color now!!

Bright Pink Nail Polish- During my spring break when I was outside I loved wearing hot pink nail polish because it makes your hands and feet look more tan! Pink is also my favorite color so having it on my fingers and toes makes me happy!

Songs:

All of Me by John Legend- LOVE THIS SONG! Wish I could learn this on the piano!! Maybe I should first learn piano...

All About Us by He is We- Don't know why I suddenly became obsessed with this song but I have lately been listening to it a lot and falling in love with He is We!

Movies/ T.V Shows:

Star-Crossed on CW - This new show has actually gotten me hooked! It is about this alien played by Matt Lanter ( <3 ) who kind of has a complicated romance with a human girl. This show is rather odd and different but I have come to like it and tune in every Monday at 8 oclock to watch!

Switched at Birth on ABC Family- This show has always been a favorite show of mine! The first several seasons are on Netflix and the new season is now on T.V and I am still in love! Had to give my favorite show a little shout out!

16-Love- This movie is rather cheesy let me warn you however I thought it was adorable and I love playing tennis so I enjoyed watching this cute romance that kind of revolved around it! Cute movie to watch with little sisters if you have one! You can find it on Netflix!

Other:

Walking- I know this sounds odd but I have actually really gotten into taking walks with my mom about two or three times a day. We just walk about a mile or a mile and half every time we go. Walking is known to be on of the best exercises for every person and every body part. Walking is also known to boost your metabolism. It relaxes me and I always look forward to doing it every day!

That is all for my March 2014 Favorites! What have you been loving this month? Let me know by shooting me an email!

'Non-Stop' Movie Review

I went to go see the movie Non-Stop with some friends on a Friday night and was glued to my chair! This movie is very intense which I expected. However what I wasn't expecting from the trailer was a mystery. This movie keeps you guessing the whole time and leaves you shocked at the end! I definitely recommend seeing it before it leaves the theaters. You won't be disappointed.
