July Reading Recap & Reviews

Hi everyone and happy Friday! I am so excited to be sharing all of the books I read in July because I am finally picking up the pace with my reading again. I have so many on my shelf to read this coming month.
I read four books total and loved several of them. Let's talk books.

This slow paced novel is set in a dreamy Scotland where a librarian is trying to figure out her next steps in life after the library dissolves her position. Her love of books and people lead her to new experiences, friendships, and love.

This book isn't super dramatic or suspenseful but it is so good. My mom just finished it and loved it as well. This book could be perfectly described as a "love letter to readers". I highly recommend!

Holy Hustle by: Crystal Stine
I recently finished this devotional and it is SO good. Whether you fall on the side of overworking and always feeling like you don't have enough, or you fall on the side of lazy and always lacking motivation, this book is great. This book talks about what The Bible has to say about hard work and focuses on biblical examples of people who worked hard and rested well. I highly recommend this one!

It's Not Me, It's You by: Stephanie Kate Strohm
I had to go back and look up what this book is about so it clearly isn't very memorable. I did like it, I just didn't love it like I have some of this authors other young adult books.

This story is about a girl who's boyfriend breaks up with her right before her senior prom and it leads her to investigate why her past relationships never worked out. This girl has had plenty of boyfriends and the interview format gets not only their perspective but that of her friends, peers, and family.

Serious Moonlight by Jenn Bennett
I have been wanting to read this book for so long and have been waiting for it to come out because I loved two of this authors other books. Sadly, I was very disappointd in this read. The characters were likeable but nothing about the storyline made much sense to me.

This book is about a high school senior who, while dealing with grief and health issues, sleeps with a stranger on impulse only to realize after getting a new job, that he is her coworker. They decided to embark on a mystery solving adventure in the hotel they are working at, but come to a shocking conclusion.

The plot sounds like it would be good, but there was so much nonsense in there too that it felt mediocre. Sorry folks!
