HUGE Spontaneous Miscellaneous! My Favorite Podcasts, Stores, Shows & More!

Happy Friday gang. It's that time of the week where I share all the random bits and bobs from my week and update you on what I have been loving recently. Let's do this!

Okay this sounds odd but the Planet Earth 2 series has blown me away. The imagery in these films is incredible and the amazing behaviors of these animals I didn't even know existed is astonishing and ever so interesting.

This weekly magazine is SO much fun to read on the couch each Saturday morning. It keeps me up to date on everything happening with the celebrities without doing stupid gossip and mean articles. I love their TV, Movie, and Music recommendations as well.

Shocker right? I loved the movie and listen to the soundtrack multiple times a day. It's the bomb.com peeps! GO SEE IT IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY!

Oh my you guys, this purse has changed the game for me. I used to always carry either my brown or black monogrammed Long Champ bag no matter what. However, after seeing this cute little brown cross-body in Old Navy I had to have it. It was only 30ish dollars and is the perfect size. It can hold a small makeup bag, my wallet, sunglasses, my keys, and phone. It's the perfect little purse, and I have decided you need one too. Your welcome!

It is no surprise that I LOVE Lilly Pulitzer. A little while ago I shared how much I loved Kate's blog recap from this same Spring Break trip, and am now also obsessed with Danielle's vlog from the trip. It is so bright and I have added Palm Beach to my bucket list.

This may just be my favorite of all. If you have never heard of Style Encore, you aren't the only one. I was oblivious to this wonderful style safe haven as well until recently. But don't worry girl, I have just ratified your way of thinking and prevented your wallet from bursting into tears. Style Encore is a buy and sell store where you can shop savvy. They will buy your clothes from you, and you can shop there as well. It is a classier version of Platos Closet if you know about them. They carry brands such as Lilly Pulitzer, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Milly, JCrew, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, etc... i walked out of there with one Lilly Pulitzer shift dress, a maxi skirt, two nice pairs of shorts, an Old Navy striped top, and brand new Michael Kors leopard flats, all for 110$.. say WHHAAAT? 110$ wouldn't have even normally bought me the Lilly Pulitzer dress, let alone all of the other items I picked up. Needless to say, you need to go to their website here, and find a store near you girl. You won't regret it.

Kate's Video About SheIn
Y'all may have seen my blog post with She In at the beginning of this week (and if you haven't you have to go check it out because that top is ADORBS). Well, many people look through the She In website and wonder about the quality of the items because they are so dog-on cheap. I had always wondered this too, so when She In reached out to work with me I was so excited to see the actual quality of their items and was pleasantly surprised. Kate did a video showing several items she ordered from them, discussing the quality and fit of their pieces and she was spot on. Obviously their clothing isn't the best quality I have ever seen, but it is pretty good considering the cost. I loved some of the pieces in Kate's video, so you have to watch it!

The Voice
My family for YEARS has always been huge American Idol fans and never strayed from it. We were religious about watching American Idol every week and voting for our favorites (to the point I fantasized about marrying on of the contestants when I was in middle school... LOL). However, after it went off the air after 15 amazing seasons, my sister, mom, and I were desperate for another similar show to all watch together and started watching The Voice this season. We are HOOKED. We don't quite understand all of the rounds quite yet but are catching on and learning how it works as it goes on. I think my favorite part is the judges. First of all, the constant quick witted banter between Blake Shelton and Adam Levine is hilarious and keeps the mood light. I am in love with how peaceful of a voice Alicia Keys has and how perfectly she uses descriptive adjectives. Lastly, are Gwen Steffani and Blake Shelton not RELATIONSHIP GOALS?!?!?!? I freakin' love how smitten they are with each other while on live TV! Please get married.

Tell Me Something I Don't Know Podcast
I just started listening to this podcast yesterday, but found it relevant to mention because I have already listened to about 10 of them (*insert monkey emoji covering his eyes here*)! I love this podcast! It is very hard to explain but I will try my hardest. It is a podcast designed like a game show, except instead of the host and judges asking the contestants questions about random topics, the contestants come on and share a fact that hopefully the brilliant judges didn't already know. There are about 5 contestants per episode, and at the end, the judges rank them depending on weather or not they already knew that fact, how important it is to know, and if it is actually true. They have a fact checker on there as well. Each episode is about 45 minutes to an hour and keeps me laughing the whole time. This would be so great to listen to if you are stuck in traffic each morning and evening. I woke up early this morning just so I could have time to listen to one! #nerd
Not only is it interesting and funny, and a great way to take up time, it also leaves you with random (and possibly useless) information about an assortment of topics to wow those you talk to.

What are some of your random favorite things? I love getting messages regarding your favorite shows and music and everything in between. Have a great weekend y'all! Talk to you soon.

Hollywood Studios Recap!

Happy hump day! The weekend is just around the corner! This week has already been rough, trying to get back into the swing of things after Spring Break. I enjoyed this past weekend though, because we had a BLAST at Hollywood Studios on Friday. We didn't spend too long in the park because it was burning up and the Star Wars music was on our nerves (more about that later) but we had the best time and enjoyed another day at a different park. Let's dive in!

First stop was my favorite ride in all of Disney World, Toy Story mania. Y'all, this game is FUN! Think 3D and more modern version of the Buzz Lightyear shooting game/ride at Magic Kingdom and you get this one. It feels nice and long too which I like. I didn't beat my dad but came in second out of us four and beat my sister which is the most important part :)

We then came upon a line to meet Olaf and my sister and I of course hopped in. I LOVED the cute set up and the nicest cast members were taking the pictures and holding our bags, it was so fun. Olaf gives the best hugs!

After that we decided to get some lunch since it was later and we stopped in at the ABC Commissary restaurant to grab a quick lunch. We had been there before and thought it was okay, but this past time it was kind of a bust. We got a gluten free cheeseburger with fries and although the fries were delish, our burger was cold and those gluten free buns just ain't good people. Oh well, it was quick service amusement park food so you can't expect much.

After lunch we headed to see the Beauty and the Beast live show which has always been a favorite of ours. It didn't disappoint. I love this show even more now after seeing the new live action movie. SO SO GOOD.

After that we decided to head over and watch the March of the First Order which happens every hour, and then a different little Star Wars number happens every hour as well but they are each 30 minutes apart. I hope that makes sense. Basically like 1:30 is March of the First Order, 2:00 is the other Star Wars show, 2:30 they redo the march.. you get it. I will be honest, when I first saw the storm troopers march across the park to the intense music, I was totally geeking out. I was like fangirling full on :) However, these two shows take place for about 10 minutes each outside in the middle of the park, so from a lot of the rides you can hear the music. This is really cool, for like the first couple hours. After that, I was pretty sick of it. I love all the new Star Wars stuff they are coming out with at that park, but I hope once some more stuff opens, they will limit those shows to less times a day to make it more exciting.

After seeing the Storm Troopers we went on the Great Movie Ride. This is a classic and just never gets old. Plus, my sister and I being the movie watching addicts that we are, always enjoy this movie. It always gets me in the mood to watch more classic movies.

My sister and my dad then decided to go on the Star Tours ride. This was always my sisters FAVORITE ride growing up so they decided to ride it again twice with our fastpasses. After my incident a week prior with motion sickness, I decided not to ride any crazy rides this time around that jerk you or are in the dark. It killed me most not riding Tower of Terror and Rock n' Rollercoaster. Oh well... My mom and I sat outside and enjoyed chatting and getting a sun tan and people watching.

After that, my dad decided to ride Rock n' Rollercoaster which had a really long line. So while he did that, my mom, sister, and I got a quick snack before heading to the line to see the Frozen sing-along. This is when we started to get REAL hot. I ain't happy when I am hot either people. Finally getting into that theater and singing about snow and all things frozen was such a nice relief. This show is new and boy is it adorable. It cracked me up how many dads were in there rolling their eyes but by the end were silently singing the songs. Does anyone not know every lyric to Let It Go?? SO CUTE!!

After this we met up with my dad and headed home! It wasn't too long of a day but it sure was fun (and HOT!). I love where I live :)
ALSO! My family and I went Sunday to play mini golf at the Disney Fantasia Mini Golf and I kicked butt!!! Again, it was blasting hot but we had fun and I have a short vlog from that day as well. Enjoy all the videos and pictures!

I will talk to y'all soon!

Nautical for Spring!

You guys!! It has been way to long since my last fashion post! I am so excited for this one. A lot of y'all have really taken to my Disney posts so I have several more planned, but I thought a fun spring outfit is a nice change.
This top is from She In and is SO preppy. I have looked up this website multiple times and have always wondered if it is too good to be true. They carry so many designer look alike items at such a low price that it almost seems impossible. I was so thrilled to find out that their clothing is acutally very nice. Now obviously it isn't the most high quality top I have ever owned but it is WAY nice for a 10$ shirt! I would order a size up though because the sleeves shrink a tad in the dryer.
Something about this style of top  makes me feel like a tennis-playing-Yale student :)

My other new obsession is these capri pants. I never used to think they are stylish but these are so comfortable and slimming for us short girls. These have stretchy bands so they feel like leggings or workout pants but are instead very dressy. I can't wait to share the other pair I bought too.

What are your new found obsessions? Let me know!

I am sad to say that my Spring Break ended yesterday. Other than the little Tampa incident (read all about it here) it was very relaxing and enjoyable. I have recaps from both Hollywood Studios and Disney Fantasia mini golf coming your way. I love where I live :)

I will talk to you very soon!

Disney Springs Day + Beauty & The Beast Movie + Tampa Trip FAIL

Hello everyone! Happy Monday! I started my Spring Break this past Friday and it started with a bang. I am going to be recapping my Friday for you, and then sharing what an "interesting" weekend I had ;)
Displaying IMG_7861.JPG
I was so thrilled for the live action Beauty & The Beast to come out. I have re-watched the same trailers over and over again since they came out and have listened to the sound track on repeat this past week in anticipation for the movie. I was a tad worried that it wouldn't live up to my expectations, but I was wrong. It was EVERYTHING I had hoped it would be, and more. It is so beautiful. There are minor details that were changed, and aspects of the movie that people made a bigger deal out of than necessary, but overall it was true to the story and absolutely perfect casting. If you get a chance to go see it, DO! You won't be disappointed.

My sister and I had decided we were going to go see it the day it opens, March 17th at Disney Springs. We are so blessed to live so close to Disney Springs and just hop over there for a movie. We bought our tickets in advance since these theaters are assigned seating and we had a blast! The AMC Theater at Disney Springs is so nice. I would one day love to do their dine in theater.
Displaying IMG_7873.JPG
After our movie, we headed to Blaze Pizza for the first time. This place has been raved about so we figured it was time we try it. For those of you who don't know, they are essentially a build your own pizza place. Kind of like a Subway, but for pizzas. My sister and I split a pizza (they are 6 thin slices for reference) and were full afterwards. They charge you one price regardless of how many toppings you choose to put on it. We had a gluten free crust and added red sauce, cheese, pepperoni, and bacon. We saw others though piling it on and spent the same amount as us so it is a cool place. I 10/10 recommend!

After our lunch we decided to walk around and window shop for a little while and stopped in the Pandora store. Y'all may know that at the beginning of this year, I decided to start a Disney Pandora bracelet to commemorate each park day. They are a rather expensive souvenir but will last forever and are nice quality. After seeing the BATB movie, I decided to buy the Enchanted Rose charm. I am in LOVE with it!

We then made our way into the World of Disney store where Meredith proceeded to buy the CUTEST Chip tea cup from the BATB movie. I seriously want one, it is the stinkin' cutest thing I have ever seen.

We were kind of in a rush to get home because I had work later that day, but we made time to stop in the Erin Mckenna Bakery to get a few treats to take home with us. For those of you who don't know, this is a bakery where everything is vegan and gluten free. It all looked so good. I was however weary to how it would taste all things considered, but it was very tasty. My sister and I each had a half of a slice of coffee cake and a cookies and cream donut and both little treats tasted magnificent. I was very impressed. (Now the prices are a little cray cray but that's what you get with gluten free!)

We then headed home after a day well spent. We plan on going again very soon when we have more time to just walk around and enjoy ourselves. Disney Springs is so huge now with SO many stores, it is impossible to cover everything in one day. We also made a mental note to one day try the bowling alley there. Have any of you gone bowling there? How is it?

Now onto our weekend...

My family had planned to take the weekend of Spring Break to take a little road trip to Tampa to go see a Tampa Lightning hockey game and spend a day at Busch Gardens. Well, since Thursday I had a bit of a stomach ache but had been alright just feeling a little icky. I figured it was nothing. Well my family was in the car en route to Tampa when I started really not feeling well. My stomach was already not feeling too hot, and then on top of that I got really motion sick. That has never really happened to me before, but then again it has been a while since I have rode in the back seat of a car for a long(ish) time. When we were about 2 minutes from our hotel, things got ugly, to say the least. I will spare you the details but I was hanging out the door of our moving car at one point, and proceeded to strip in the Holiday Inn parking lot and prance through the lobby wearing my pajamas. It was no fun.
My mom stayed with me in the Hotel room and watched the same re-run episode of Say Yes to The Dress with me for 5 hours while my dad and sister went to the hockey game. They had fun even though they lost and brought me back a cute t-shirt. I was bummed I couldn't go but things could always have been worse.

After we were all back in the hotel room and ready to sleep, the air conditioning broke in our room and started shooting out heat. Yeah. Here we are all downing Sprite and saltine crackers in this hotel room away from home, and all of us being super hot nature of course the heat has to kick on. It was great #NOT

I think it was at about 4 in the morning when we all decided to laugh about it after my sister recited the line from Elf :
"Hey Buddy how did you sleep?"
"Great! I got a full 45 minutes!"

That was about all the sleep we got too! We decided not to go to Busch Gardens Sunday considering we all were exhausted and I didn't necessarily feel like flipping upside down on my head riding roller coasters all day.

So in an attempt to keep me from getting car sick again, we drove the whole two hours down the interstate with the sun roof and every window down as I clung to a box of saltines and downed my 14th bottle of Sprite. Our ears are all still ringing from that trip :D

I say all of this to say, that I am very blessed and happy to live in Orlando where there is so much to see and do because I don't plan on traveling for about 5 years ;)

Hope your weekend was a tad better. I am finally feeling better from this sickness and I hopefully have an exciting and more relaxing week ahead! Talk to you soon!

Spontaneous Miscellaneous

Happy Friday y'all! I can't believe how long it has been since I have done one of these blog posts. It has been busy busy busy! I plan to have a relaxing weekend full of running, coffee, and Gilmore Girls. Heck yeah! I am back today though with a fun recap of all my favorite things recently!
Image result for designated survivor
First things first y'all, Designated Survivor returned Wednesday night and it was STRESSFUL! I flippin' love this show. It is so intense. You can catch up on all the episodes here if you haven't seen it yet.
Image result for gilmore girls
Speaking of tv shows, my sister and I are close to finishing Gilmore Girls and I am going to be so sad when it's over. We will obviously still have the Year in the Life series to watch but it just won't be the same.
I have LOVED following Kate from the Lonestar Southern blog on her Lilly Pulitzer spring break trip in Palm Beach! Her blog posts showing off the new Lilly collection is amazing! Lilly P does it again.
Image result for yes fit
The Yes.Fit Virtual races are a recent favorite of mine. I am new to this whole virtual racing thing but I have to say it is pretty cool. It is an interesting way to keep runners motivated and interested in running. Yes.Fit has several races to participate in and they are all a different mileage. You get to split the miles up however you would like and run them wherever, when ever, and how ever you like at your own pace. You sync your running app or watch to the website and once you reach the finish, they send you your medal. This website is super great about sending you emails too tracking your progress. I am almost done with the Alice and Wonderland race that I signed up for. Once I finish and get my medal, maybe I will do a full blog post talking all about it. RunDisney also has a summer virtual race series coming up this summer that I might participate in. I will keep you updated :)

I have to admit I slacked on my February reading, but have really found several podcasts I love. There just isn't enough time in the day for all the tv shows, movies, books, podcasts, etc... Oh and school and work and the other necessary things of life :/  You can expect to see a blog post with those recommendations soon!

I always love suggestions! What are some of your favorite things recently??

Have a great weekend! I will talk to y'all very soon :)

Magic Kingdom Recap & VLOG!

Hi everyone and happy Friday! I am so excited to have a non-exciting weekend :) LOL! After last weekend of going non-stop I am excited to relax, watch Gilmore Girls, drink coffee, and catch up on life. Can I get an amen?
Today I am sharing a recap of my families trip to Magic Kingdom the day after the Disney Enchanted 10k race. This place just never gets old. If you want to see my top Disney World tips you can read here. Can I also just say it was so much fun wearing my medal around the parks. Tons of other runners were doing the same and we all congratulated each other, along with receiving congratulations from a ton of cast members. So uplifting!
We arrived a little after they opened and the park wasn't too packed. It got a lot busier as the day went on but the weather was beautiful and the lines weren't too outrageous.
We started by leisurely walking down Main Street and stopping in the Uptown Jewelers store. They have a big and beautiful Pandora store in there with a ton of Disney Parks Exclusive charms and jewelry. I started my Pandora bracelet when we went to Animal Kingdom, and was so excited to add to it this time too. I picked up the runDisney charm and the snow white dress charm. Now every time I look at my bracelet I am reminded of my race :) I love it! I didn't get a good picture of the individual charms but you can kind of see it in the picture above.
We then made our way down to the front of the castle to take about 75,641,000 pictures!
We then found Buzz Lightyear and had a fun time meeting him before riding the Buzz Lightyear ride which is one of my families favorite. My mom won big time which she reminded us all through out the week.. sigh.

After my moms gloating, we stopped in the Monster Inc Laugh Floor which is always a good time. The show changes every time so it is always so funny to watch.
We all then had lunch at the Starlight Cafe which sells things like rotisserie chicken, hamburgers, pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, chicken nuggets, fries, etc... Disney of course was awesome about allergies. The rotisserie chicken meal that my parents got came with green beans and mashed potatoes and it was all gluten free (and delicious I was told). My sister and I got the bacon cheeseburger with a gluten free bun and fries. I love Disney.
We then made our way over to meet Drizella and Anastasia which are Cinderella's evil step sisters. This may have been the most fun 10 minutes EVER! My sister and I had the funniest conversation with them and laughed a ton. The pictures are some of my favorites too. Love these two!
My family then went to ride the teacups!! This is definitely my parents favorite (not!!). The plan was for my mom and dad to get their own teacup so they didn't have to spin as much as my sister and I liked to but the lady running the line asked all four of us to get in one teacup. This wasn't a problem when my sister and I were 5 and 7 but being 15 and 17 is a different story. The teacups look big but there is DEFINITELY not enough space for four adults knees in the middle. We got some good laughs though out of all of us spinning like crazy all crowded in this teacup :D
Gaston was next on our list of people to meet. He was beautiful and cocky, just like the Gaston we all know.
My family had some time to burn before our next fast passes so we decided to take the little boat over to Tom Sawyer Island. It was shady but that's about the only thing great about it. If I were a nature-loving-12 year old boy scout I may have had more interest but there really is nothing other than a few picnic tables and stair case hikes.

We road the boat back over to Frontierland so that my dad and I could ride Thunder Mountain Railroad (my favorite ride), and my mom and sister went to watch the Bear Jamboree. The Bear Jamboree is a classic for sure. Hey, it's air conditioned and doesn't ever have a wait so it's worth it :)
We all watched the Festival of Fantasy Parade which is an amazing parade! After that my family was hot and tired. We made our way to a show called the Enchanted Tiki Room. This makes the Bear Jamboree look amazing and modern. If you have seen the Bear Jamboree you know that isn't the case. My family spent the whole show holding back the laughter it was so cheesy and bad :) But again, air condition people.
My sister and I then rode the Aladdin Magic Carpets which was fun!

We then made our way back to the Starlight Cafe to eat the exact same thing for dinner. I was stuck on cheeseburgers, I don't know why. After dinner, we went and enjoyed the Carousel of Progress. An oldie but a goodie. It is a rotating theater and is a cute show. It was ticking close to time for the Wishes Firework Spectacular so we decided to get some hot coffee and claim our seats for the show. A little tip, the area in front of the castle and down main street get VERY VERY crowded. My family claimed the benches along the water between Tomorrowland and the castle. It was the perfect spot to watch the fireworks away from the crowds. You can't hear the music as well but you get a beautiful view without standing shoulder to shoulder with smelly people who have been at the parks all day :) This show gives me goosebumps every time. I love where I live.
We skipped back to the car after a magical day! And I zonked out about 5 minutes into the car ride.

I vlogged a little bit of our day and you can watch it here!
I hope you enjoyed reading about our busy magical day! Hope to see you there soon :)

2017 Disney Princess Enchanted 10k Race Recap!

Happy Wednesday! As promised, I am sharing a race recap today giving you every ounce of detail regarding the Disney Princess Enchanted 10k which I LOVED! If you missed my video of the race you can watch it in this blog post! Enjoy!

I will first tell you how I got into this whole crazy running thing, and then I will recap the race!

First, let me start off by saying that I felt that a 10k was a PERFECT distance for a Disney Race. It was challenging to train for, but not totally life consuming. I never had injuries or felt bad after training for this distance. Plus, six miles is right about the point I start to get bored with running, so a 10k (6.2 miles) is the perfect distance for me. This allows enough course space for plenty of characters to appear without it feeling rushed or too drawn out and long. If you are a beginner you can TOTALLY handle this race. A year ago this time I went to Magic Kingdom and saw tons of women wearing their medals and told my family, "next year, I am running one of those races". Now at the time I am sure I thought they had all ran a 5k or something. Not an entire half marathon. I hadn't run in years and wasn't up to speed with this whole world of racing. I went home that day and did all my research and decided I would sign up for the 10k even though I couldn't even run a mile. The next day, I started training and come registration day I was sitting at my computer ready to go. I ran two 5k's leading up to the big race and that really boosted my confidence. There were obviously some times when I didn't go go go all the time and fell behind training (I.E. wisdom teeth surgery, doggy passing away, holiday traveling, sick), but for the most part I stuck to a schedule and slowly saw progress. It became addicting and I noticed my mood was better each day I started it with exercise. I bought the right gear, listened to a good playlist, and just kept running. After almost a year, I could run a 5k no problem and was prepared for a 10k. This doesn't mean I wasn't a nervous wreck before the race though. I could barely eat the night before and morning of the race. I however finished in plenty of time and worried for nothing. I hope this is an example to anyone considering taking up running. You don't have to be a certain size, gender, or type of person to run. You just have to sign up, and put one foot in front of the other until race day. There is no shame in speed walking either. In fact I love it. It is way less pressure on your body and still great exercise.

Now on to the actual race recap!!

Displaying IMG_7738.PNG
We woke up at 2:30 AM. Yes. I am NOT an early riser so this was the hardest part for me. We live about an hour from Disney so if you stay on Disney property you might get to sleep in until 3:30 AM #luckyyou
We left the house at 3 AM to beat any traffic we might run into (which we never actually did, I hear the traffic is worse on Sunday) and arrived in plenty of time. I ran into a friend at the race and chatted before making my way into the corrals at around 5 AM. I stood and paced like a nervous crazy person for 20 minutes and then my corral (corral A) made it's way to the start line. The announcer yabbered on for 10 minutes and then the countdown began and the fireworks shot off and I was off and running. There is nothing like that feeling!

Not long after the start, runners passed underneath an overpass which had Moana waving and cheering us on. This was wise on Disney's part to put a popular character in the course but not available for pictures. Her line would have been crazy long. The first three miles were on back roads but had plenty of entertainment including opportunities to meet Elena of Avalor, Tinkerbell, and the Old Hag from Snow White. There was also I think two water stops and restrooms along the way.

After the half way point, things started to pick up. This is when you enter the world showcase at Epcot and see it all lit up beautifully. There were two men on stilts which was pretty cool. There was several cool characters once you enter the world showcase and they are perfectly spread out. There was Dopey, Marie, Pinocchio, and the Genie from Aladdin. You also run along the boardwalk before reentering Epcot. Minnie was a little after the five mile marker. Her line is always the longest. There were about two water stops in the last three miles.

Also, right before the six mile marker I stood in line to take a picture in front of the Epcot ball. This is always my favorite shot of people from this race! I then ran past the six mile marker and straight to the finish line for a dazzling medal!
There were a TON of photographers on the course after mile three. You will definitely have a few good shots from the race!

There is nothing quite like the finish of a runDisney race. Eveyone you pass will congratulate you and make you feel like superwoman. This race is truly amazing and waaay to much fun :)

I hope this inspires you to sign up for a race yourself. Have a great hump day!!

xoxo
