Books I Want To Read

Happy Monday everyone! I can say that with excitement because it is officially only ONE WEEK UNTIL CHRISTMAS! WHAAAAT? As excited as I am for family to come into town and to celebrate, part of me always gets sad as it comes to an end. I plan to spend this week watching ALL the Christmas movies I can find!!

Today's post is another one about books. I am a nerd, I know. I went into a large Barnes and Noble the other day and decided not to spend any more money there this month, but instead just browse around and make a mental list of all the books that looked good to me. I took pictures and thought I would compile them in a blog post so I would remember them.

HERE IS WHERE YOU COME IN: I need you to comment below, email me, or comment on my social media if you have read any of these. Give me your honest opinions so I can note which I want to scratch or highlight! Got it? Let's do this.

(I will link every one to Amazon so you can read the descriptions of each book if any look good to y'all.)

I want to read this one so much! It looks so unlike anything I normally read but has gotten such great reviews!

I have heard such great things about this book. It looks so moving.

It looks slightly cheesy, slightly intriguing. I dig it.

I haven't heard of this book but it sounded really great. This book also tackles the topic of mental illness which I think could be interesting.

How cute is this cover? It sounds like a quick but enjoyable read!

This is a fictional book (almost historical fiction) that sounds right up my alley. This book has such an interesting description.

I know this seems so random but I love books like this and I always secretly wished to be a spy or FBI agent when I was younger. This book looked interesting.

This historical fiction looks SO good. Very intense and the author uses facts from the true story to unveil this murder.

I have had several friends talk about how good this book is so now I am dying to read it.

Considering my passion for education, you would be surprised I have not read Malala's book yet. I have heard a lot about her (she is AMAZING) but would like to read her entire book and story.

Now for the classroom:

I loved the book Wonder by R.J Palacio and want the picture book version for my classroom too.

Speaking of Malala, she also has a short picture book written about her life.

I USED TO LOVE JUNIE B JONES! I need aaalllll of them!

This book looks precious! It has such a great message too.

How cute is this title and cover? It sounds like such a cute book!

I love these books about a posh little French Bulldog. Such cute illustrations.

How did I not know this Dr. Seuss book existed? So cute, as always!

Well there you have it! Have you read any of these/ used them in your classroom? Let me know. I will talk to you soon!

Spontaneous Miscellaneous

Happy Friday everyone! I have SO enjoyed this first week of break from college. I love my school and love what I'm studying but after finals week we all need a break. I have break-ed pretty hard too. Like watched the entire first season of Stranger Things on Netflix. Heck yeah!

Here are some of my favorite things from this week. Don't forget to tell me some of your recent favorites!

One // Stranger Things
As mentioned above I watched the whole first season in two days. It was SO good. However, I can't say I am really as impressed with season 2 so far. We will see, what are your thoughts on the show?

Two // Red Nail Polish
I have already mentioned before how this is my favorite type of nail polish because it lasts at least a week without really chipping. This red color is so pretty for the holidays (don't forget the crucial top coat)!
ALSO: I shattered my whole phone the other day (a long, terribly hilarious story) and am obsessed with my new case and popsocket I got after getting a new screen. Give me aaaalll the rose gold!!

Three // Clemson's Equipment Manager
I almost cried watching this segment on ESPN College Gameday the other day. This young man with Down Syndrome works as the equipment manager for the college football team and seeing his love for the players and the players love for him in return melted my heart!

Four // UCF Knights
I just ordered my AAC Championship winner shirt! How amazing was that championship game win in double overtime? Now if they could just somehow beat Auburn in the Peach bowl that would be THE BEST!!!

Five // Mom on a Hoverboard

I will just leave y'all here with the funniest video ever. You're welcome.

I hope you enjoy your weekend. I will talk to you again on Monday!

Happy Wednesday everyone. I am so pumped to be back in the blogging routine now that finals are over and I have a month break from school. It has been a hot minute since I shared  an outfit post. I bought this top from a local boutique but you can find it here. It is my favorite shirt currently. It is super cool material so it is perfect for Florida!
Top // Jeans // Bracelets // Earrings //

I hope you have a great rest of your day. I will talk to you again on Wednesday!

My Recent Book Recap & Reviews

Happy Tuesday y'all! I am writing this post with a Hallmark Christmas movie on in the background and I couldn't be HAPPIER! I love this time of year. As much as I love Fall time, we don't really get one in Florida. We jump from hot, to hotter, and then a little cooler before jumping to really hot again. I am happy to have a little colder weather this week!

Today I am going to recap my recent reads! I love these posts and am trying to get better about updating y'all on what I am reading. I gave my thoughts on each book and then the actual description from the back of the book. I hope you get some great ideas!

Eh. This one was okay. I don't know if I was just jumping into this one too quickly after reading the trilogy by Jenny Han that I wasn't fully focused, but I couldn't really get into it. I found myself drifting while reading it which is never a good sign. The story line was rather confusing at first which kind of lost me. My lack of interest might have to do with the fact that I picked it up mainly because of the cute front cover. Whoopsies.

Book Description: "Three women, born generations apart.
One mysterious book that threads their lives together.
A journey of love, discovery, and truth…
I’ll See You in Paris is based on the real life of Gladys Spencer-Churchill, the Duchess of Marlborough, a woman whose life was so rich and storied it could fill several books. Nearly a century after Gladys’s heyday, a young woman’s quest to understand the legendary Duchess takes her from a charming hamlet in the English countryside, to a dilapidated manse kept behind barbed wire, and ultimately to Paris, where answers will be found at last. In the end, she not only solves the riddle of the Duchess, but uncovers the missing pieces in her own life."

Wow. I don't even know where to start. There was a lot of hype around this book, especially once they announced it would be made into a movie. I loved this sweet book. It was definitely written to a 4th-7th grade reading level but I still found it entertaining and so sweet. The movie was also phenomenal and I am sure I will re-read this book with a classroom of kiddos very soon. I can't wait to have such great discussions about the impact of being kind.

Book Description: "August Pullman was born with a facial difference that, up until now, has prevented him from going to a mainstream school. Starting 5th grade at Beecher Prep, he wants nothing more than to be treated as an ordinary kid—but his new classmates can’t get past Auggie’s extraordinary face."

I saw several people saying this book was one of their favorites of the year and although I wouldn't take it quite that far I would say I really enjoyed it also. It was a rather slow moving story but the plot is still interesting enough to encourage you to keep reading.

Book Description: "Jessa Whitworth knew she didn't belong in her ex-boyfriend Caleb's room. But she couldn't deny that she was everywhere--in his photos, his neatly folded T-shirts, even the butterfly necklace in his jeans pocket . . . the one she gave him for safe keeping on that day.
His mother asked her to pack up his things--even though she blames Jessa for his accident. How could she say no? And maybe, just maybe, it will help her work through the guilt she feels about their final moments together.
But as Jessa begins to box up the pieces of Caleb's life, they trigger memories that make Jessa realize their past relationship may not be exactly as she remembered. And she starts to question whether she really knew Caleb at all.
Each fragment of his life reveals a new clue that propels Jessa to search for the truth about Caleb's accident. What really happened on the storm-swept bridge?"

Goliath Must Fall by: Louie Giglio
I am not quite finished with this book yet but can tell it is going to be a staple and one I recommend to others for years. This book is relatable to ANYONE because it has to do with any kind of addiction, fear, anger, or rejection which we have all experienced. I love this book so far!!

Book Description: "It’s likely you have a threatening giant in your life…an adversary or stronghold that’s diminishing your ability to live a full and free life. Frozen in the grip of rejection, fear, anger, comfort, or addiction, we lose sight of the promise God has for our lives. Demoralized and defeated, we settle for far less than his best. God has a better plan for you, a plan for you to live in victory. That’s why he has silenced your giant once and for all."

There you have it... A few quick reads that I enjoyed this past month. What have you been reading this past month? I love recommendations.

I will talk to you soon!

Spontaneous Miscellaneous.. I'm BACK!!

Happy Saturda everyone! I'm SO sorry for the unannounced hiatus from blogging the last week or so. I was traveling for thanksgiving (more on that soon) and then came back home to the start of FINALS! I am so motivated to get each of my finals done because then it is officially CHRISTMAS BREAK! I can't wait to have a small break from school so that I will be refreshed and ready to tackle spring and summer semester. How are y'alls finals going? Are you drowning in homework too?

I am so thrilled to be back on a blogging routine however, and have a TON of favorite things to share with you this week.

One // Wonder
The book was amazing. The movie was amazing. I recommend it all!!!

I bit the bullet and purchased a Barnes and Noble Membership. It will definitely pay off with how much money I spend in that store. I plan to have a blog post soon with my recent reads.

They're engaged and couldn't possibly be any cuter! You have to watch their full engagement announcement interview here. Be still my heart. I am READY for another royal wedding.

Y'all have to hunt down the Hot Cocoa Marshmallow flavor... or pretty much any of their holiday favorites. This stuff is like crack in a bag, it is so addicting. The best part though, is that it is low in calories. BOOM!

Five // Rose Gold
It is cracking me up how I used to not really love rose gold and am now obsessed. My rose gold Disney world ears and my new favorites. I paired them with this shirt which I received many compliments on. Once Upon Apparel has my favorite park shirts!

Six // FEAST
This Pixar short film was shown at the short film attraction at Epcot and I thought you should see it too.

This high school dance team did a dance that was Wizard of Oz themed and it honestly blew my mind. I have shown it to everyone. You have to watch it here. This is my top favorite of this WEEK!!

What are some of your favorites from the week? I will talk to you again soon! Enjoy your weekend :)

Spontaneous Miscellaneous

Happy Friday everyone!

I am so excited to share my favorites from the week. It was a busy but a great one!

One // Epcot with my bestie!
I had such a great time with my bff at Epcot this past Saturday! We had such a fun day and did so much. We did however, have plenty of time to also just chat and catch up (because you know, we hadn't spoken in like 48 hours). Haha! You can find my shirt here. You can find the shirt Lauren is wearing here.

Two // Keeping Molly
My grandparents went out of town this week and my family kept their sweet Cockapoo Molly. I loved having a dog in the house again. She is just the sweetest. It is crazy to think it has been almost a year since our sweet Prissy died :(  I miss hearing those little puppy paws walking around!

Three // Starbucks Buy One Get One Free Holiday Drinks
BRO! Did y'all know that this has started!? From 2pm-5pm every day you get a holiday drink free with every purchase of one. My favorite is the toasted white chocolate mocha.. YUM! As anyone tried the gingerbread latte? That is next on my list of coffee drinks to try.

Four // Rose Gold Minnie Ears
If you follow several Disney lovers on Instagram, you probably know that these ears are hard to come by. I just kind of thought it was an exaggeration but getting my hands on these was no joke. I happened to be in a store at Epcot when a worker was putting them out on the wall and people were grabbing them in handfuls. Why anyone would want multiple pairs of the same ears beats me, but I felt the peer pressure and just grabbed a pair. Plus, the annual pass holder discount makes them a reasonable price. I love them and can't wait to wear them!

Well there you have it! Enjoy your weekend!

Michaels Boho Christmas Decor

Happy Wednesday y'all! I am so happy to share this post because it has to do with CHRISTMAS!!! I know Thanksgiving hasn't even come yet but I just couldn't wait. The other day I was doing some shopping and came across the Boho Christmas collection at Michaels for 50% OFF and I died! I am usually such a red and green classic Christmas person but it never matches my room décor. My room colors are bright girly colors so it seemed more fitting to use brighter Christmas decorations this year and save the classic Christmas things for my apartment in a few years. I just can't help it.. I love all the Christmas things!

Enjoy the rest of your hump day! I will talk to you very soon!
