Elle Woods Vibes

"BEND AND SNAP!"

Hey y'all. Long time no chat! I took some time off from blogging to enjoy my Christmas and I am so happy to be back. I do love time with my sweet family. Christmas Eve was so wonderful at my grandparents house with my parents, sister, and aunt. Come Christmas day we had a relaxing morning at home and then threw a surprise party for my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. I am so blessed to come from a family of sweet couples. After 50 years my grandparents are still the cutest couple and most fun people to be around. They have kept God at the center of their relationship and always laugh. They are such a good example for me. Needless to say that this holiday was beyond perfect. I am so undeserving of God's love that he would send his son for me. That's crazy y'all.

I was so blessed to get such BOMB gifts this year. You will see me sharing some of them here and there but today I am sharing this new shirt and shorts I got. I mean HELLOOOO!?!?! How stinkin' cute is this combo? Jadelynn Brooke is the bees knees (oh and so is Reese Witherspoon duh!). I love some Legally Blonde :)

What were y'all up to this past Christmas? This coming Monday, I am sharing my New Years Resolutions so check back!

Winter Go To Outfit with JORD Watches

Happy Monday everyone! I am so happy to have you here today because this post is actually a collaboration with a sweet bloggy friend of mine Julia!  Make sure to go and check out her winter go-to outfit as well. If you are coming from her blog, let me start off by saying hey y'all! Happy to see ya :) Let's talk fashion and life together!

I am also dying over this lip color! I got browsing around Target (mistake #1!) and found the Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams and now I want every single color. They stay on your lips ALL day and don't dry them out. I used to be (and still am) obsessed with the Nyx Butter Glosses but now I want ALLLL of the matte creams. Gimme gimme gimme!

Lastly, can we talk about this super cute watch?? Jord Watches is such a great company with such classic wooden watches. You can find mine here. I have a few 50$ and 25$ gift cards to giveaway so if you would like one please email me. I only have a limited amount so get on it girl. (My email: jgraceblog@gmail.com)

An easier way to get a 25$ gift card is to enter your name and email here. Easy peasy right?

Now for a life update! Thursday I had wisdom teeth surgery and it was no fun! I survived but boy this is a longer recovery than I thought. Have any of you had wisdom teeth surgery? How long did it take for you to recover? The pain medications made me feel a little nauseous and though I never thought I would say this, I am sick of sucking on ice cream and soup. However, I have to say it has been nice to be done with school for the semester and watch all the Hallmark movies :)

I hope y'all have a great rest of your week. Talk to you soon. xoxo

Reindeer Run Orlando 2016 + Weekend Recap

Hey y'all! Hope you're all doing extra fantastic today. I am still on a high from such an amazing weekend. Let me share!

I know you may be surprised to hear that my very awesome weekend started at 4:30 am Saturday but I am not kidding. I was up and getting ready at 4:30 in the morning. On a weekend. Me. I know, hard to believe. But I had a Reindeer 5k to run and I couldn't wait. It was in the 40's and 50's all morning which had this Florida girl jumping for joy y'all. At 5:30 I was out the door, decked head to toe in Christmas gear, ready to run 3.1 miles around Seaworld.
The race was incredible. I will definitely have to mark this down on my calendar every December. Seaworld had such beautiful decorations and entertainment. This isn't a chip timed race, so they only have one general clock above the finish line that marks the time from the minute the first person runs across the start line. I tracked my time on my watch an ran the race in 30 minutes which is fine for me since I stopped to take a ton of pictures :)
Every runner was dressed for the occasion, and the weather was just perfect (once I started running of course... I was freezing waiting for the race to start!). I am so in love with Seaworld and all they do, and this race was a perfect opportunity to catch a peak at the park without all the hustle and bustle of tourists and mobs of kids. So fun!

After the race, we ran home to change before catching a quick breakfast at a small restaurant by our house. We then came home and got all cozy in our pajamas. This is when I decided to take a 5 hour nap. I know what you're thinking... and no. I don't usually feel led to take a 5 hour nap every time I run 3 miles but after a week of going to sleep late and then starting my weekend off at 4:30 am to run around an amusement park, it was much appreciated. Jules needs her sleep y'all :)

We spent the night watching football and made plans for the New Year. There are lot's of fun things we have planned for 2017 including:

...Yeah, I'm a tad excited!!

Sunday, we got up early to go to church. I had a bit of a crazy day in the preschool and enjoyed a much needed Dr. Pepper afterwards. I took the afternoon to finish some school before heading to First Baptist Orlando for the amazing Singing Christmas Trees performance. There are people in those trees!! Absolutely specatcular. If you live in the Orlando area, is is a MUST SEE.

We concluded the night at Chuy's, a mexican restaurant, then did some more homework before calling it a night. Absolute perfection. A festive weekend with loved ones.

What did y'all do this weekend?? I will talk to you again on tomorrow!

Bye Bye Prissy & Life Update

Hey y'all. I first want to apologize for being so hard to reach the past week. I am just now getting around to getting back on schedule with emails, social media, and blogging so please forgive me. Life has been a little crazy.

I first wanted to start by telling y'all that on Monday December 5th, my family had to say goodbye to our puppy of 10 years, Prissy. She was an older dog and has struggled with seizures the past couple years. On Saturday December 3rd she had a very strange episode of what we thought was a stroke. After spending hours that night at the Animal Hospital we were told she had just hurt her neck. However come Monday when she was still in such obvious pain and was having other symptoms, she was taken to the vet and we were told she most likely had a brain tumor that couldn't be treated. All four of us spent the day at home sobbing our eyes out and loving on our poor hurting dog. At 3 pm she was taken in to be put down. I haven't cried that hard ever. It may seem silly to some, but I was 7 years old when we got Miss Prissy so it is hard for me to remember life without her. She was truly the most perfect doggy and baby of our family. Each of us prayed thanking God that we were blessed enough to have a sweet pup for 10 years. God is good. We will always remember her and miss her even as the pain wears off. To any of you who have had to put a dog down, I am so sorry. It hurts. Thank y'all so much for all the sweet messages, emails, and prayers I have received. Y'all are the best.
Can I also just say my grandmother is the best? She brought us dinner that night and I love her!

Speaking of my sweet Mamaw, my sister and I headed over to her new house last night and had the BEST time. We ate sweet treats, the BEST dip, and enjoyed a Hallmark Chrirstmas movie. Does it get any better than that?

My Black Friday purchase came in a few days ago and I am in LOVE. This running watch and activity tracker is amazing. I will do a full post on how I train for different races but this watch is a total game changer.

Speaking of runs, tomorrow I will be running an early 5k at Seaworld and I am pumped. It is going to be COLD and everyone will be dressed for Christmas. Along with running in the morning, I plan to spend that night enjoying the Christmas festivities at Disney Springs and a Christmas show Sunday night as well. I will make sure to keep you updated and share on Instagram too :)

Another thing started this past week and that would be VLOGMAS! My sister will be doing a weekly vlogmas so check her out here.

I will link some of my other favorite vloggers to watch during vlogmas below:

Who's vlogmas do you love to watch? Let me know in the comments!!

In the midst of such a sad couple days, I am so blessed to have my whole family together come the holidays and to have so many of you still reading this little blog of mine. I will talk to y'all later!!

xoxo
