All I Need is Coffee and Mascara ~Fashion Friday~

Happy Friday loves! I am inviting you into my living room for todays quick fashion Friday post. I look forward to sharing some more fall/winter-like outfits except it is still SO hot here in Florida. Soon though my friends, soon. Anyways, how stinkin cute is this shirt? This is so much more my sisters style and I never really would pick this out for myself, but I loved it too much not to get it. I love both coffee and mascara so PERFECT!
Speaking of coffee... I have recently replaced Starbucks with Dunkin Donuts. OMG Y'all its bad.. I am obsessed with DD's iced coffee and iced lattes. I haven't tried their hot coffee yet (due to weather issue mentioned earlier) but I am sure it is just as good. Not to mention, their coffee is so cheap. Sorry Starbs :/

Life Lately + Recent Favorites!

Happy Wednesday everyone! I wanted to share a few photos with you from my last week and share some favorites with you.
First off, my sister is stunning isn't she?? The picture below was her before she went to her freshman homecoming :) I sadly had to work and couldn't go to the dance but I had just enough time to do my sisters hair and makeup.

I have also switched skincare routines. I used to swear by Clinique and I still love their products. I do however now LOVE Cetephil skincare now because not only is it super cheap from the drugstore and really gentle on my skin.

Also a new favorite would be my new makeup! I am so obsessed with Merle Norman mineral powder foundation. It is more full coverage but natural looking and matches my skin PERFECTLY. Girl loves a good foundation!

Now for some of my restaurant favorites. I love Sweet and Sour Chicken from Pei Wei recently and basically all Japanese food in general also.

When it comes to jewelry, I love BIG hoops. With short hair, big earring really stand out.

What have y'all been liking lately?? Comment below or email me with all the details on your recent favs :) Talk to you Friday lovelies!

Month 5- 7 Experiment/Project: Praying for Others

http://www.julianagraceblogspace.com/p/7.html

Happy hump day y'all. This is such a special post to me. As you know for 7 Months, I decided to partake in a "challenge" like Jen Hatmaker did to see what God would teach me. I however came up with mostly my own themes for each month. This month has been incredible and it isn't even over.

For month 5 I decided I was going to pray for 7 people. I don't just mean mention quickly on my drive to work while being touched by a song that came on the Christian radio station. I mean on my knees, committing several minutes a day to pray for these 7 people. I wont share who they are on here obviously but let me tell y'all, they are a random bunch of people. Some I know well, some I have hardly spoken too, some I just love, and some that I weren't too fond of. Regardless, this month has been fantastic.

I prayed the last week of September that God would show me who I was supposed to pray for, and he randomly placed them on my heart. I then wrote down their names and listed bullet points of what I should pray for them about. This started out with about 2-3 bullet points per person and is now about 10-15. I never realized how much others need my prayers. I have noticed such a difference in people I barely know from a distance. I may or may not know them really well in the future, but that doesn't mean I can't pray for them. Others I admit I never really liked. I have trash talked them, said I was D.O.N.E, and many other things and believe it or not, I kind of like them now. I am seeing a change in their heart and I am learning that forgiveness is a powerful thing. Through humbling myself to pray for those I don't care for, I have learned that I was the only one being hurt.

I will update you on this later, but let me say, y'all, this is working. Its creeping me out at times how much I am seeing God use my prayers. But it is SO working, and I am so excited. Pray for someone other than yourself this week. You will feel amazing, I promise!

Events of The Bible: Aaron and the Golden Calf ~Weekly Devotion~

What we Learned This Week:
The city of Israel longed for a god like the Egyptian gods, a god they could see and carry before them. They asked Aaron to make a god for them and he foolishly agreed. He took gold and formed it into a calf. Aaron said that this was the God that brought them out of Egypt. This angered God and God told Moses to go down and stop the idolatry. Moses ended the idolatry and 3,000 men were killed in the making.

Relating it to Your Life:
Sometimes it can be hard to find a way to relate these stories to us now but think back to the last devotion. We went over the ten commandments and simplified them all to make sense to us now. What was the first commandment? You shall have no gods before me. We may not be worshipping a golden calf but maybe we worship a certain celebrity. Or we worship our diets and put our appearance above God. Maybe we put our relationships with others above our relationship with God. This can all become idolatry. In todays world, everyone feels like they have to fit in somewhere and your friend "group" is determined off of essentially what you make your "idol". Don't forget to make friends with people who also put God above everything else. Lastly, stay in prayer constantly throughout the day. God wants to be the center of your life and help you through every situation unlike Kim Kardashian or your boyfriend. Pray for focus on God.

This Weeks Reading: Exodus 34

What do y'all struggle with when it comes to an "idol" in your life? My answer would have to be fashion and other bloggers. I admit I spend more time on fashion blogs and piecing together my own outfits than I do in the Bible more days than I care to admit.
As always, comment below or email me with any thoughts or questions! Talk to you soon!

Events of the Bible: Ten Commandments ~Weekly Devotion~

Happy Tuesday :) Sorry I am a day late on this weeks devo... Hope y'all enjoy it all the same!

What we Read This Week:
God gave the Ten Commandments by which he wrote in stone and they were as follows:
1. You shall have no other gods before me
2. You shall not make for yourself a carved image
3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain
4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy
5. Honor your father and your mother
6.You shall not murder
7.You shall not commit adultery
8.You shall not steal
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor
10. You shall not covet

Relating it to Your Life:
I could easily say just follow them and be happy and call it a night but I think instead I will go into detail about a few of the commandments and what God means for us when he asks us to follow them.
  • In the 1st and 2nd commandment God makes it quite clear that we should put nothing and no one above him. If you are going to live a joyous life with the Lord, he needs to be the Lord of your life.
  • The 3rd commandment is often overlooked. I myself get in a habit of saying "oh my gosh" way to much. We as Christians need to set a classy example so that we not only show our respect to our God who is holy but also to set a high standard for the way others speak to us about God. We must not use His name in vain, nor should we laugh along approvingly when others do so as well.
  • EEEEK, another one that is overlooked. I know that a lot of people see Sunday as the last day to get things done before another work week rolls around but this is not how God intended it to be. If you can remember back a few devotions in the beginning, God created the last day to rest. Sundays are meant to spend resting and worshipping. I have recently taken this into effect on my life and boy has it been wonderful. I always have a better week when I spend my Sunday at church and then come home and relax with my family, have a nice long devotion and prayer, and take a long nap. This isn't a hard one to follow folks ;)
  • Honor your father and mother. Us teens struggle with this don't we? We might actually have to admit we don't know everything to honor our parents -__-  If God says do it, we should do it. We probably have a lot to learn from our parents. We should also be praying for them daily. They have huge impacts on who we turn out to be.
  • The 6th and 7th commandment are quite blunt. Do not commit murder or adultery. Not literally. Not with your words. Just don't hurt people.
  • Do not steal. I love the ones that are self explanatory.
  • The 9th commandment means to not lie. The thing is girls, is God always knows the truth :/ ... Hopefully that gives you a guilty conscious like it does me!
  • Oh and the tenth... probably the one we could ALL use a little prayer about. The world and society today makes it SOOOOO hard not to want what others have and be jealous. I mean man, half the time I am jelous of people I have never met and know nothing about (probably because she is married to Channing Tatum but that's beside the point..) Pray for contentment girls. Its hard to be fully content and not want more. I am right there with you!

Next Weeks Reading: Exodus 32

Alright ladies! I will be praying for you as you pray to follow these ten commandments (and it wouldn't hurt if you helped your girl out here with a prayer maybe too)! Remember, these laws were not put here by God to torture us. They were placed here to make us happy and live life to his fullest extent. Talk to you soon ladies!
