Happy Fashion Friday! I hope y'all had a great week and are gearing up for a fantastic weekend. Tonight I am doing a little antique shopping and I am going to watch my favorite movie Steel Magnolias. Love it. Speaking of things I love, how adorable are these Simply Southern Shirts? I am seeing them everywhere now and I love the hot pink one I have with a bow tie on the back. They are fantastic for summer. Also, can we talk about these sandals? They look just like Jack Rogers but they are SO much cheaper... bonus!!

Events of the Bible: Jacob and Esau -Weekly Devotion

What we Read This Week:
Rebekah, the wife of Isaac, was pregnant with twin boys Jacob and Esau. Esau was born first therefore he received the birthright. (The birthright belonged to the oldest son and it entitled him to the largest share of his father's estate.) Jacob, however, was set on getting this birthright and tried to deceive his father Isaac into giving it to him. He did this by covering his arms in goat hair to resemble Esau's hairy arms that way when blind and old Isaac would feel him, he would think it was Esau and give over the birth right. His plan was successful and when Esau returned, he was furious.

Relating it to Your Life:
Sigh... Just another example of people seeking materialistic things or money $$. Jacob and Esau could have had a great relationship with each other and with the Lord however both of those relationships will forever have a strain on them all because Jacob wanted the birthright. Don't let money or material things become an idol that you loose sight of what's really important. Things will never satisfy like real relationships with your family, friends, and with the Lord.

This Weeks Reading: Genesis 37-40

~Sail Boats~

Happy Fashion Friday everyone! I hope you had an excellent week and are enjoying your summer. I don't know about you but I am freaking out at how fast my summer is flying by. I have enjoyed every second of this summer and think that it is definitely one of my most exciting summers. What is your favorite thing you have done this summer?

How cute are summer scarfs?? I am obsessed with them! I have to say that even though they are "light weight", the Florida summer heat really cant take them for too long. These are more ideal for indoor summer plans for sure ;) I love me some black and white and of course the small belt trend :D

Have a great weekend! I will talk to y'all soon. Comment below or email me with any thoughts or questions of course.

Simple Summer...

Happy Friday everyone! You can probably tell that I GOT A NEW CAMERA! I am so excited. I worked and saved up for the Canon EOS Rebel SL1 DSLR Camera and I absolutely love it. These photos were the first photos I have taken on it so I am obviously still trying to get used to it and learn more about it. Maybe after a while I can do a camera review so you can know why I love it so much.

7 Project: 7 Days With No Internet- Month 2

Happy Wednesday everyone! I thought I would pop on here and share with you why there hasn't been a post updating you on month 2 of my 7 project/ experiment.

First of all, I would like to announce that after Month 1 of eating only 7 foods, that I thought I would NEVER want those foods again but to be honest, even though I almost cried with joy at the thought of a scrambled egg July 1st, I have a totally different mind set about food. I felt so good after Month 1 that I really haven't changed up anything. Obviously I can now eat what my mom cooks and actually have a meal out with my friends but I am truly more thankful for my food now and really hope I can keep a grateful attitude through out the rest of my life because of 7.

These past 7 days you have not heard from me on here because I went completely unplugged! For month 2 of my 7 project, I went 7 days with no internet or electronics of any sort. I will admit I still used my phone for calling my parents if I needed too but other than that and checking online to get my work schedule, I used no social media or internet (this is including the TV and Netflix). I thought this would be harder to be honest. A week really does fly by fast but in a sense, I enjoyed every minute of this week. I didn't just "quickly check up on some youtube" and an hour later realize I had things I actually wanted to get done. This week my room stayed pretty clean, I read through two books, my devotion time with God each morning wasn't rushed, and I enjoyed peaceful time with my family more. I realized this week how truly blessed I am by the little moments in life that I probably pass up all the time because I am looking at some form of internet. I had a night of playing charades with my entire family and laughing my head off. Meals weren't just quick, but lasted sometimes an hour, and they were so fun. I am not going to lie, I am happy to be back in a routine of blogging and I am glad I can google things again, but I hope I never let technology take away moments with my family and with the Lord. I highly encourage you go unplugged for a week and see what happens.

What I Eat in a Day w/ IBS- Tasty Tuesday!

Welcome back to Tasty Tuesday everyone! I know that usually I share some recipes that are gluten and lactose free on Tuesdays but I thought instead of sharing some kind of recipe, I would share with y'all what foods I typically grab to eat quickly when I don't have time to cook anything. Many of you may know I struggle with IBS along with gluten and lactose intolerance so finding quick things to fix can be a bigger struggle that normal. I hope this helps you find some things to eat if you struggle with it like I do.

Breakfast:
I used to LOVE yogurt. However, when I found out I was lactose intolerant I had to give yogurt up of course. So when my mom found that Yoplait made lactose free yogurt in both Vanilla & Strawberry flavor, we bought the mother load. (Like we bought the whole shelf of it at our local Walmart). This makes such a quick breakfast that is still filling. I don't have to get a pan and wait to scramble and egg but I also don't have to eat all the junk in gluten free bread products like waffles. PERFECT!
Side Note: These are also super tasty if you want to put some strawberries or blueberries on top with gluten free granola and make a parfait.

Lunch:
Although many different companies make gluten free breads, I just cant bring myself to eat them most of the time. Not only do they just not taste good, but I cant pronounce any of the ingredients which is never good. I like to often make a roll up and take some honey maple turkey and wrap it around a dill pickle or in this case a cheese stick. Because I am lactose intolerant I can only have the sharp cheddar cheese sticks but if you want to get different kinds of cheeses to roll up with your meat feel free. I was out by the pool this day and this was something quick and easy to eat while on the porch along with some Dorito Chips :)
Side Note: I also usually like to have something like a really cold Gatorade when I am outside all day or working out because it keeps me hydrated and something about a cold fruit punch flavored drink tastes amazing by the pool during summer ;)

Snack:
Around 2pm I will get a little hungry but I wont be in the mood to fix anything since dinner time is soon. Since I already had chips with my lunch, I decided to go with these snap pea crisps. They are essentially the same sensation as munching on potato chips but these are super healthy and don't have much of a taste. These are the original ones but I know that Publix has many different flavors of them that many recommend.

Dinner:
I didn't get a photograph of my dinner because I was in such a rush to get out the door for work that I didn't grab anything to eat until I was back home at 10:30pm. I definitely don't recommend eating dinner that late but I was pretty hungry and enjoyed some nice leftover shrimp my mom cooked for dinner that night with a mandarin orange.

I hope y'all enjoyed this different post and found it helpful. If you would like me to do more posts showing you what I eat in a day, comment below or email me.

Events of the Bible: Isaac and Rebekah- Weekly Devotion

What we Learned This Week:
As we know from last weeks devotion, Isaac is one of the sons of Abraham. Abraham wanted to find a wife for Isaac before he died because he didn't want him marrying a Canaanite woman. Abraham sent out a servant to find Isaac a wife and the servant prayed that God would deliver a sign. Whichever woman offered to also feed the camel along with him would be his wife. Rebekah, did just that. God provided the sign they needed and she was the perfect wife for Isaac.

Relating it to Your Life:
God delivers in strange ways and I think this is a perfect example of patience when it comes to finding someone. The servant could have just gone out and picked the first girl he saw as Isaacs wife but instead he waited on the Lord. Turns out God had the perfect woman for Isaac and all their prayers and patience paid off. I have prayed for my future husband for years and hope that he too will be patient and wait on Gods will for his life like I am trying to do as well.

This Weeks Reading: Genesis 25: 19-34 ; Genesis 27:1-46

Side Note: Since this is a longer reading and I wont be posting next Monday (more on that Wednesday), we will have two weeks to read and we will pick up the devotions the following Monday.
