Events of the Bible: The Flood- Weekly Devotion

Hi everyone and happy Monday!

What we are Learning This Week:
This past week we were supposed to be reading Genesis 6-9. This chapter talked about the flood. I feel that this is a universally accepted event because science does prove that there was a flood that covered the whole earth. There were shells found on top of mountains etc... So we know that this happened, but do we know why? God looked down on the Earth and saw that man's every intent was wicked and evil. Noah however, found favor in the Lord and was instructed to build a giant ark (ship) and fill it with the male and female of every species along with his family. For forty days and forty nights, the skies opened with rain and flooded the earth destroying all other men. After the flood, God established a promise with Noah that He would never flood the earth again and gave man the rainbow as the sign of the covenant. So now every time you see the rainbow you can think of the many promises and might of our God.

Relating it to Your Life:
Well we know that a flood covered the earth because scientists have found artifacts but how did I know this whole Noah thing happened? If this didn't happen, the human race would be extinct along with the animals. What does this have to do with you now? Well do you think that people looked at Noah building this huge boat for over 100 years and didn't once call him crazy? Of course they did!! He looked insane at the time but he was following Gods instructions and it paid off wouldn't you say? God may instruct us to do things that sound crazy at times but you never know in that moment the long term benefits of following his will. Maybe that is going to a mission trip to help others in a country far away, maybe that is reaching out to your next door neighbor and inviting them to church; maybe it is trying to go to a church yourself. You never know what great things God has in store for you unless you follow what he says, regardless of how crazy or whack it may seem :) This week I challenge you to do what God lays out for you regardless of how crazy it may seem. I will join you. I am excited to see what the outcome is.

This Weeks Reading: Genesis 9:1-17

Nailed It! Monthly Mani's

Hello everyone and happy Sunday. I mentioned in yesterdays Sweet Saturday that I am starting a new series where at the end of every month I am going to share with you what my nails have been wearing. I know sometimes in my Fashion Friday posts, you cant see them too well, so I thought I would dedicate a whole post to them. I have always loved changing up my nails but I love it even more now that I use Jamberry nails instead of polish mostly. You will see below how I mix and match both sometimes. Can't wait to keep playing with a lot of different colors and patterns in the future. My full review and description of Jamberry Nails can be found here.

I believe I did show you this one. This is the Skinny Pink wrap on all  of my nails. Super cute but not too busy for my liking.

I used the Skinny Pink wrap on my big toe and painted the others white to bring out the white in the wrap. I love mixing and matching the polishes with the wraps even though the Jamberry wraps last three times longer than polish. I thought this was cute and a lot of people complimented me on it.

I decided to use the wrap as an accent nail, and pant the rest pink which is super cute.

I kept the same accent nail on but after a few days, when my polish was already chipping I switched out the pink polish for white to match m pedicure at the time.

These are my FAVORITE!! How cute are these Easter/Spring nails??!! They are called Get Hoppy. I love them so much. I wasn't sure how much I was going to like having mix match nails but I actually really like it. These are so festive and really putting me in the spirit!

Me and my sister put one of the wraps from the Get Hoppy set that had the pink background and white bunny on our big toe and alternated the rest with polish between a light pink and white to match the wrap. So cute right?? Me and my sister had a girls night and did our nails, and she loved them. I did her finger nails too but I didn't picture them because they were exactly like mine.

Nailed It

That was all of my mani pedis this month. Let me know in the comments if you like this new series. Next month, I will show you some more! Talk to you tomorrow. God Bless!

Easter Rice Krispies- Sweet Saturday

Hello everyone and Happy Sweet Saturday! Are we all excited for Easter coming up next Sunday? I sure am, and I am also excited for my 16th birthday the day after Easter. I am also going to start something new here on Juliana Grace Blog Space tomorrow with a series called 'Nailed It'. I bet you can guess it, but it is going to be a post that I do near the end of ever month showing you my manicures and pedicures from the whole entire month. I am very excited to show you what all my nails have been rocking this month so keep an eye out tomorrow for the first of those posts. What are y'all up to this weekend? Well if you are looking for something to bake, try these out! They are super yummy and cute for Easter too. Not to mention, they take no time to make and are easy on the stomach which is something I have to always keep in mind. I hope you enjoy them!

Prep Time: 5 Minutes

Ingredients:
3 tablespoons butter
5 cups marshmallows
Pink Food Coloring
6 Cups Rice Krispies Cereal
1 1/2 cups Easter M&Ms
Easter Sprinkles

Directions:
In a large microwavable bowl, melt your butter. Once it is completely melted, add in your marshmallows and stir to coat with the butter. Microwave another minute or two until your marshmallows are melted. (PS. Don't you love the smell of melted marshmallows? It remind me of a camp fire!) Immediately after they are melted and you take the bowl out of the microwave, stir in 2-3 drops of pink food coloring. Pink works better than red. You could also use green, blue, or violet. Once you have incorporated all of that together, pour the mixture over the cereal in an even larger bowl. You want to have a large bowl because it makes it so much easier to mix. Add in your M&Ms and Easter Sprinkles to the mixture. Pour into a greased 8x8 pan and let it sit out to cool for around 20 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Let me know if you do decide to give this recipe a try. I love rice krispies and how easy of a treat they are to make. The good thing about these is that you could always do them with different colors year round. You could even do Christmas colors! Comment below, or email me any thoughts or questions. Bon Appetite.

Hippie Pants

Happy Friday everyone! I thought this day would NEVER come. The first week back after Spring Break always seems the longest. I have to say that these pants are the BEST for days when you aren't feeling like putting much effort into your outfit. They feel like pajama pants and are actually really cute. I received a ton of compliments on them too probably because this is such a different look for me. I really liked the stacked bracelets though considering I always wear silver jewelry or something. You can find the pants at Kohl's.
Anyway, after this being the first week after Spring Break, I actually have next Friday off because it is Good Friday. The day that Jesus was killed for our sins. So thankful. Next Monday is my 16th birthday as well as Easter the day before so there are a long of exiting things coming up. What kind of things do y'all have coming up??

I hope you enjoyed and I will see you tomorrow for a delicious Sweet Saturday that is PERFECT for Easter! Comment below or email me any thoughts or questions, see you tomorrow!

What to do in Charleston and Edisto Island SC - Travel With Me!

Hi everyone and happy Hump Day! Today I am very excited to share with you a post about my trip to Charleston and Edisto Island SC where I went last week on vacation. It was super relaxing but we also had a few fun activities planned as well for the week.

Lodging and Island Things!
We checked into the Wyndham Resort we were staying at on Edisto Island. This whole island was pretty desolate even for spring break so it was super relaxing and a great time to spend with my fam! I would recommend this as a place to stay because it simply has so much to do around the island and a lot of helpful resources. We took advantage of the tennis courts, heated pools, putt putt course, wellness center, etc... There is one beach access way that has the most beautiful sunset. While you are watching the gorgeous sunset you can also watch dolphins in the water also that are active at certain times. Overall, though this island doesn't have too many people or too much activity, I found that aspect nice and relaxing.

Food!
This category isn't going to last too long because we ate at the same restaurant every time we ate out. We fell in love with Whaleys. Don't be frightened when you pull up at what used to be a gas station and there are no lights around the whole place. The party is definitely inside. Around dinner time, this is where you can find all the locals. This is definitely a hole-in-the-wall gem that offers some INCREDIBLE seafood. Probably some of the best I have ever had and I live not far from the beach where there are plenty of seafood places. GREAT food. Not to mention our waiter was the sweetest and most hilarious guy ever. My sister loved the place so much she bought a t-shirt there.

Other than that place, we prepared some meals in our hotel room from the local Bi-lo. This is the only store on this island so thankfully they have good options for as small as it is. I was impressed to actually find lactaid milk and gluten free bread. Again though, nicest workers EVER!

Charleston Activities!
Patriots Point- This was probably my favorite part of the whole vacation! Touring the Naval USS Yorktown Ship. This isn't something that initially would spark my interest too much but let me tell you that after six hours there I probably could have spent six more. Even though you are touring it, it feels more like playing spy as a kid because since it is a ship you go down latters and guide yourself. You get to see where all the sailors slept, ate, played cards, got haircuts, got treated for injury, etc... At one point you go all the way down to the engine room that is 25 feet below sea level. I still cant believe that people lived on this ship or ones like them, including my own grandfather. I am so grateful for all of them. Probably one of the coolest things I have ever toured EVER! Really interesting.

(Their dentist room)

(Captains Seat)

(It was pretty windy up on the deck where they landed the planes on the ship)

 (Workin' them big guns)

(Haircut place for the soldiers)

Palmetto Carriage Tour- This was a fantastic horse drawn carriage tour that was super informative and perfect length. We had the nicest and funniest tour guide and she took us around different areas of Charleston and showed us the most popular area and facts along with the hidden places and facts we would have otherwise never known. This tour was also great for giving us a layout for the area so we could walk from place to place without getting lost later. Totally recommend this carriage tour.

The Historic Charleston City Market- This was what most of our day consisted of when we went to downtown Charleston one day because seriously it is HUGE. I feel like this market and rainbow road are the two iconic Charleston assets. There are these women who weave these baskets in front of you and they are incredible. All these independent sellers offer such awesome and unique things. There are things like cookbooks, sauces, paintings, house décor, a lot of jewelry, clothing, and SO many more unique things. You could spend all day there. I bought a charm for my chain charm bracelet that has a horse drawn carriage and says Charleston on it and I also bought this HUGE necklace that I LOVED. You will definitely see this in a fashion Friday post!

I also recommend just walking around and touring some of the historic homes and churches. They are gorgeous and interesting to learn about real quick!

Here is an outfit I wore out to eat once that I thought you might like to see!

Whatever Wednesday

I hope you all enjoyed the pictures and maybe have an interest in visiting sometime soon! I really enjoyed this trip and had a nice relaxing time while also seeing something new. Where is your favorite place to travel?? Comment below or email me! Talk to you on Friday!

Events of the Bible: Enoch and Methuselah- Weekly Devotion

Hey everyone. Now I am sure when you saw the title of this you were awfully confused or were looking at me like I had four heads because I get it, they don't exactly teach you about Enoch and Methuselah when you are in church preschool. Stick with me though, because I think this is quite an interesting story that I am going to try my best to relate to you and your life.

Weeekly Devotions

What we are Learning This Week:
If you recall we have learned about Adam and Eve our first parents. They were the first human beings on this earth, created by God. You read in last weeks reading about a man named Enoch, who was the seventh generation after Adam. The bible tells us that he walked in righteousness and worshiped God his whole life. This doesn't mean that he never sinned but God was super pleased with his constant devotion to him and kept him from death. He took Enoch to heaven one day and he was seen no more. Methuselah was the son of Enoch. He was a Godly man too who had an extremely passionate devotion to God. God blessed him and he lived longer than any other person that the Bible speaks of. In those days men and women lived much longer than we do now. Methuselah lived to be 969 years old.

Relating it to Your Life:
This sounds all great and cool but how does this relate to us? How can an ancient man mean anything to me? Well I can't promise you that you are going to go straight to heaven without dying or that you will live to be 969 years old but I can promise you that God blesses those that are devoted to him and follow his ways. If you are obedient to God regardless of the sin we all have, then God will bless you. God has only ever wanted the best for you so his rules and guidelines he sets are to better your life. Follow them and you will prosper.

This Weeks Reading: Genesis 6-9

I hope you all enjoyed and share your thoughts in the comments below or email me any questions. Talk to all on Wednesday when I share with you about my trip last week to Charleston and Edisto Island South Carolina. I cant wait for you all to see the pictures and everything. Talk to you soon.
