Chocolate and Peanut Butter Buckeye Recipe- Sweet Saturday

Sweet Saturday has returned! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend and are having a lot of fun. Today I went to a friends house and COOKED! Many of you know that today I cooked all the meals so there will be many posts in the future about some of the recipes I have prepared today. At the moment however, I have some BUCKEYES, which are a perfect combination of peanut butter and chocolate! This is the perfect sweet snack that isn't too hard to make. Enjoy and let me know if you try it out!

Ingredients:
1/4 cup melted butter
1 3/4 cup powdered sugar
3/4 cup peanut butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
7oz of dipping chocolate

Directions:
In a large bowl with an electric mixer, add the melted butter, powdered sugar, peanut butter, and vanilla and beat with on low until it is combined. It will look a little crumbly and that is okay.
Then you are going to form them into little balls and set on a parchment paper lined baking sheet before letting them set in the refrigerator for about an hour to harden.
After they have hardened a bit, you are going to dip them in your favorite melted dipping chocolate by sticking a toothpick in the top and dipping them in the dip.
Let them sit in the refrigerator another couple minutes and then ENJOY!

Turtle Necks and Denim!

Happy Fashion Friday ladies!! I am glad you all made it through the week because if you were like me, it felt really long ;) I love todays outfit because you don't see this kind of thing too often. I love turtle necks but rarely am cold enough to wear them. If I lived somewhere cold however, I would probably get one in every color! Mine is from the Gap along with my khaki pants! My shoes are Keds sneakers and my denim jacket is so old I have no clue where it is from. I love navy and white and khaki together and these little nautical shoes are so up my alley! What are you favorite colors to pair together?

Tonight I am going out shopping with my mom while my sister and dad are going to a jazz concert and tomorrow is a MAJOR cooking day for me. I am making all the meals and snacks tomorrow homemade so expect some recipe posts coming your way very soon. Speaking of posts, many of you asked in my last Fashion Friday for a January Favorites post and you will be seeing one! This Wednesday I will have one up hopefully. I have ALOT of great things to show y'all so keep your eyes peeled :)

SoLAR bEarS! Outfit With Prissy!

Happy Hump Day! Today I thought I would share a rather random post but I guess that is what Whatever Wednesdays are for right?? Last night I went to an Ice Hockey game! Many of you already know that I love football but my second favorite sport to watch is hockey. A while back when my dad first took me to one I thought that I would like it okay except for the fighting that the players do. 5 minutes into the game however and I am shouting, "YEAH GET EM!!! THATS RIGHT!!!! YEAHHHH PUNCH EM!" =D  I get very into my hockey now and always enjoy going with my family. The Orlando Solar Bears are a farm team essentially which means they aren't quite in the NHL but they are still great to watch and games are always loads of fun regardless of who wins (but lets be honest, I like it WAY better when we win).

Here are a couple pictures of me this morning wearing my Solar Bears shirt after going to the game last night. Of course my doggy made an appearance too ;)

Do you enjoy Ice Hockey? Comment below or email me with any thoughts or questions! Talk to all you lovelies on Friday.

Happy Friday... You know what that means! Some Fashion Friday coming your way!! I couldn't help but feel a little springy with this bright top but it already feels like spring in Florida so I guess that is acceptable. What are y'alls plans for the weekend? I hope to go out on a trail this weekend with my dad and go biking possibly if the weather permits. Other than that, we are getting rid of and assembling new furniture for my dads office which should be interesting. Our house will probably be a wreck for a while as we move everything out and then back in. Something new that I have really been getting into this past month is yoga! It is really relaxing and really hard and I have enjoyed working my way up to being better at it. Have any of you every tried yoga?

Speaking of this month, I was considering re-starting up my monthly favorites again. Would y'all like to see a January favorites? Let me know in the comments or email me!

Talk to y'all soon!

My Room!! + Vintage Teen Room Decor

Hey Y'all! Welcome to my room!! I have been meaning to do a post showing y'all my bedroom for SO long and have either never had it clean and organized enough or I would forget. Today I am very happy to show you a little tour of my room though and maybe give you some ideas about decorating possibly. My brilliant momma is the one who decorated my room so she knows more about where she got all of it then I do. A year or two ago, my room décor was my Chritmas gift so I left it all to my momma and she did GREAT! A lot of the things in my room are old or from a local antique shop so unfortunately I cant link you to any of the décor but this is just to give you a little insight into my house and possibly give you some inspiration!

~Come on in~

The first thing you see when you walk in my room is probably my bed and this is the angle. My quilt was made by my great-grandmother and the white bedding and round pillows are also from Target I believe.

To the right on the wall next to my door is this little vintage dress hanging.

Below that dress and near the door is this vintage little tool chest painted pink and decorated girly. I love this idea of taking odd things and turning them into a very girly yet vintage looking piece. This has come in handy SO much holding my books and magazines!

For those of you who didn't see my post about the back of my door, I cover it with blank white notecards that have some of my favorite quotes on them. I gradually add or replace more but I love using markers the same color as my room and decorating little white index cards. I finally have a purpose for my huge quotes board on Pinterest :)

Here is another angle of that side of my room!

To the left of my bed is this huge Volkswagen poster which you will learn by the end of this post that I am OBSESSED with. Something about old cars and these adorable hippie-like vans make my really happy! I also have a little lamp on my nightstand with my devotional things and some pencils. Down below that I use as my at-home-locker kind of where I store a lot of my textbooks and school things.

Above my bed I have these three framed sayings that my mom made herself which pretty well describe me!

After turning left when you come in the door I have my book shelf. Down below behind the little doors I keep my luggage and purses. Have you spotted my pink ukulele ;)

First shelf: I have a little flower bucket where I keep cards I have received. In front of that I keep a little recipe box and my Bluetooth speaker.

Second shelf: I have a lot of picture frames of me and my sister. The one on the left is me doing a handstand on top of a chair back during my dance days! Under the glass container I have my favorite toy.. It is a squezzy cow that eyes bulge out every time you squeeze it. Don't ask why this provides so much entertainment =D

Top Shelf: My mom took a white canvas, pink ribbon, and vintage flower print clothes pins and BOOM I have something cute to hang pictures from. As you can tell I love having pictures in my room of my family and friends! Also I have a sea shell from the beach along with some more Volkswagen vans!!! My dad got these little guys for my birthday last year and the small one is actually a USB drive which is super cool. Also, couldn't forget The Little Dictionary Of Fashion by: Christian Dior which I love!

Next to my shelf I have a little bench that actually opens to hold more storage. I also have another flowery pillow from Target I think. And yes, I love my little ukulele :)

I love this poster that I found at a record store at Daytona beach that I have above my bench!

I have a cute framed chalk board above dresser where I set my jewelry box and laptop which I blog on ;)

This is my vanity where I sit everyday to do my hair and make-up! I love my little fake flowers!

I have here once again, a VOLKSWAGEN VAN y'all! I get this calendar every year for Christmas from my parents because they know how much I love the vans but also keeping organized!

Do y'all remember the rain boots? I did a fashion post once with these and I even mentioned how I keep them for decorating my room because I love them so much... Here they are! So cute!

And here is the last little corner of my room where I hold my necklaces on a rack with my name on it that I have had forever!!

I hope you all enjoyed a peek into my room and found something interesting! Comment below or email me with any thoughts or questions!

Unbroken Movie Review + Weekly Devotion!

Good evening everybody... Guess what todays post is? A movie review! I haven't done one in forever so I thought it was time I shared one on here again. I went yesterday to finally see the movie Unbroken which is an unbelievable true story that is also a book. This is an incredible story about a journey that is unfathomable and forgiveness that can only come from God. This is the story of Louis Zamperini, an American World War II soldier in the American Air Force who survived not only 47 days in a raft at sea after his plane crashed but over 2 years in a Japanese prison camp where he experienced multiple forms of terrible torture. Because he was an Olympic athlete, he was used as propaganda and saved from execution but stood out and experienced extra and more torturous means of violence. He was released after the war ended and returned home. Years later, Louis came to forgive the Japanese and returned there to personally meet with many of the guards that caused him physical and mental scaring; something that after I saw his experience in the movie, could only come from God. He admits that it was God who saved him and has helped him move on. The movie obviously cant capture the entire life story like the book attempts too but it is definitely worth seeing. Check it out before it leaves theaters.

What does the bible say about forgiveness?
"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Ephesians 4:32

"And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins." Mark 11:25

God teaches us that he has already forgiven us of everything that we have done, things we are doing, and things we will do in the future and he has already died the most brutal death so that we can be forgiven. If he can forgive all the terrible things we have done then we can forgive this one grudge correct?

Remember: Forgiveness is unlocking the door to set someone free and realizing you were the prisoner.

I am sure Louis would 100% agree as he has stated in his own words multiple times.
Enjoy this week and I will talk to y'all very soon :)

Black and White + Feat. Prissy!

Happy Friday folks!! Look who made an appearance in todays Fashion Friday post?? My doggy! My dog Prissy is a miniature Dachshund (or wiener dog as you may know) who is sadly becoming an old lady. She has been sick and having some medical issues lately so we are praying that the vets and the Lord can fix our baby :) Isn't she adorable though?
Anyways, it is no surprise  I am showing a way to layer clothing! I rarely get the chance to dress in chilly clothing where I live because it is rarely cold so when it is cold I take full advantage and layer it up. I promise in the weeks to come though, I have some different fashion posts planned ;) I have Monday off this week so that is very exciting... I would like to say that I am going to be spending my time off doing something productive but to be honest I will probably be having an American Idol marathon =) What are y'alls plans for this weekend? I hope y'all all have a blessed weekend and I will talk with you all very soon.
