Rainy Day...

Where my outfit is from:
Shirt: Gap
Shorts: Gap
Watch: Amazon
Boots: Target

Hello everyone I hope you are doing well! How cute are these rain boots though? I cant get over them. My mom bought them forever ago at Target and then gave them to me because she wasn't going to wear them and this is the first time in a couple years that I used them as shoes instead of a decoration for my room! I always thought they were too cute to wear so I put them up against the wall in my room, however today I decided why not put them to use. It was actually raining today so the umbrella and boots did come in handy! Gotta love that Florida weather right? They did get quite dirty, but thankfully they wipe right off. Hope you enjoy the rest of your week! Talk to you soon!

Creation vs. Evolution (Proof That There Is A God) - Weekly Devotion

Hi everybody! I am super excited about this post! I have been waiting to do a devotion like this one for quite a while and now that I finally have all the facts gathered, I can't wait to share them with you. Shout out to my amazing small group leaders at my church who taught me all of the things mentioned in this post! This devotion touches on a topic rather confusing to a lot of people who aren't believers because what you are often times taught in school doesn't line up with what us Christians believe. So who is right? Is there really such thing as a God?

The Teleological Argument says that the intricate design in the universe argues for a purposeful first cause.
Think about the eye. Have you ever studied the eye and seen how complex it really is. The fact that our eyes originally see things upside down, and our brain changes it to right side up before we know it, blows my mind.
Think about the cell. All the parts of a cell function simultaneously and work just perfectly. Isn't that ridiculous?
Think about DNA. One strand of DNA is more complex than a modern day computer, just one strand.
An adult human body has 100,000 miles of blood vessels.
You shed about 600,000 particles of skin every hour.
Not to mention, everybody has a different personality. Explain how evolution could create the feeling of love and other emotions.
Doesn't the complexity and truth of these statements, prove there must have been a brilliant designer.

The Law of Thermodynamics
The first law states that matter/ energy can neither be created or destroyed. So how could all of this matter and energy come from nothing? How could we have all just happened?

The second law states that the amount of usable energy is depleting. People often say that the earth has just always been here, but if this is true we wouldn't still have enough usable energy to sustain human life.

The Law of Biogenesis states that life only comes from life. This law disproves the theory of spontaneous generation. Some atheistic scientists will propose that life was transported here from another planet, but in that case, the life from that planet would still have had to come from somewhere.

The Moral Argument
If there is a God, then why the evil and suffering in the world? Sin. God gave us our free will to choose to love Him. It wouldn't be true love is we didn't chose him and we chose sin which is why there is suffering in the world.
Why doesn't God do something about the evil and suffering? He did, he sent his son. His son died on the cross so when we die we could live the life he intended, with no evil and suffering. He asks only that you believe in him and follow him.

Red Velvet Cupcakes with White Chocolate Frosting- Sweet Saturday

Hello everybody I hope all you have had a great week and are enjoying your weekend! I am currently enjoying watching the Florida at Alabama football game. I always love when Florida and Alabama face off because since I live in Florida but am a huge Alabama fan, I get to enjoy the rivalry between a lot of people I know. Today, I will be munching on these cupcakes while I watch the game and they are certainly delicious. The cupcakes are great but the real kicker is the frosting. This white chocolate frosting is super rich and makes a great combo with these cupcakes.

Ingredients:
2.5 cups cake flour
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 teaspoon
1.5 cups sugar
1.5 cups vegetable oil
2 eggs
red food coloring (about 50 drops)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup buttermilk
1.5 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons white vinegar

Frosting Ingredients:
6 ounces white chocolate, melted
1 cup unsalted butter
2 cups confectioners sugar
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
In a medium bowl combine cake flour, cocoa powder, and salt. In a larger mixing bowl, add together sugar, oil, eggs, food coloring, and vanilla.
Alternating between buttermilk, and flour mixture to wet ingredients, mixing between additions.
In a small bowl whisk together baking soda and white vinegar. Whisk baking soda mixture into cupcake batter. Fill lined tins with batter and bake for 20 minutes. Let cool before frosting.

Frosting Directions:
In a mixing bowl with a paddle attachment, beat the butter for 1 minute. Slowly add the confectioners  sugar. Then add white chocolate until creamy. Add the cream, vanilla extract, and salt. Frost cupcakes and enjoy!

I hope you all give this a shot and if you do comment below or email me about it! I love hearing from you all!

Lunchroom Ladies 50 Year Old Recipe - Sweet Saturday!

Hello everybody and welcome to another Sweet Saturday! I want to apologize for not having a treat up last Saturday. The reason I didn't have one up last weekend is because I failed. Yep. I hate to admit it but the delicious sounding recipe that I spent 3 hours on turned out to taste like toothpaste in the end. Oh well! Today I do however, have a DELICIOUS recipe for ya! If you are like me, anything that has the word lunch room or lunch ladies makes you think of school food which is enough to make you click x out of my blog right now, but I am here to say this recipe is amazing folks! You basically through all the cake ingredients in a bowl, stir for 5 seconds, pop in the oven, and voila! The icing takes about the same amount of effort. Through the ingredients in the mixer and after a couple seconds you have delicious frosting. I would describe this is half cake half brownies! They aren't as hard and crunchy as brownies but aren't as fluffy as cake! This is probably the easiest recipe I have made and ANYONE can make it in no time.

Ingredients & Directions:
1 cup butter
1/2 cup cocoa
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
4 tsp vanilla
Pour into pan, bake 20-25 minutes on 350 degrees

*Icing*
1/4 cup softened butter
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup cocoa
3 cups powdered sugar
dash salt
Mix together and frost as desired!!

August 2014 Favortes! Beauty, Books, Movies and More!

Hi everybody! I hope all of you had a great weekend and labor day! I can honestly say my three-day weekend consisted of me watching endless hours of football and eating potato chips but it was very relaxing. I am going to be sharing with y'all today all of the random things here and there that I have been LOVING this month! I have a pretty good mixture of beauty, fashion, books, movies, and random things. Enjoy!

Beauty
Merle Norman Lip Pencil in Cocoa Buff- This pencil is very similar to the MAC lip liner that people claim is what Kendall Jenner wears on her lips. I will say that even though I am not a fan of hers, I do love her staple lip color. This lip liner and lip color duo is the perfect dark nude that is so in style right now. I use this almost every day with some Nyx Butter Gloss and adore the finish!
Clinique All About Shadow Primer- This shadow primer isn't anything out of this world however it is the best one I have used. I haven't tried out a huge variety of eye primers because once I find one I like is stick to it but I recently purchased this and it does a great job keeping my eye makeup on all day and night! Magnificent!
Nyx Nude Wonder Pencil- I absolutely adore this product. I have seen a lot of different people use this nude eye liner on the waterline of their lower lashes but I never knew how I would like it on me and turns out, I adore it. I feel like stark white in your lower waterline is a little too harsh, however a nude like this one, works wonders in making your eyes look bigger! Really fantastic product for me this month!
Fashion
Brighton Watch- This brighton watch is probably my favorite watch I own. It isn't cheap but definitely worth it because I use it almost every day. I am such a watch junkie that I love to have one in every color, however, I still find myself wearing this one the most often and I always get compliments on it! I would for sure recommend this!
Books
Divergent-By: Veronica Roth- The month of August I decided to be the last person to jump on the Divergent ban wagon and give it a shot. I really enjoyed this book considering this isn't usually my favorite style. I also watched the movie on Amazon Prime (see my book vs movie post here). I thought that the book had a lot of depth and there weren't a lot of two-dimensional characters which made it a lot more intriguing. I recommend this book for sure.
Where She Went- By: Gayle Forman- I did a full review of this book under the book list tab but I had to mention this book in my favorites because I am obsessed with it. For those of you who don't know, this is the sequel to the novel If I Stay which just turned into a movie (book vs. movie post here) which I also loved by Gayle Forman. I however was shocked by how impressed I was also by the greatness of the sequel Where She Went. This book is written from the boyfriend Adams perspective therefore you leave this book feeling though you know him so much better now. I think this book was definitely necessary after the rather abrupt ending to If I Stay. I read this book in one day on a straight road trip so I was obviously not bored with it and needless to say GO READ IT... after reading If I Stay of course.
Movies
Into The Storm- I went to go see this movie with two friends and we were all a wreck through out this whole movie due to the suspense. This movie is almost like twister in the fact that it is based off the story of tornadoes. I loved this movie however and you should for sure click on the title to view the trailer!
If I Stay- Click on the title to view the trailer for If I Stay. This movie was SO great and spot on with the book. My friends and I were all a mess during and after the whole movie because we cried endlessly. This movie is certainly spectacular and portrays such a sweet message. The book as always is a smidge better for me but that might just be because I am a nerd. :) I recommend reading the book but DEFINITELY go see the movie afterwards. See the book vs. movie post I did on it here.

Random
Lilly Pulitzer Agenda- This agenda is seriously keeping my life together. I am such a planner and have to make lists so having a cute agenda like this one makes it great! I use this to write down my homework and everything and it makes me so happy because it is simply adorable!

The SacconeJolys Youtube Channel- I LOVE this family's videos! They seriously make my day tuning in daily to watch their life! This husband and wife living in London have a 2 year old girl and boy only a few months old. I don't know what it is about them that I love but I find the kids to be adorable and the parents to be hilarious and entertaining to watch. Such a cute family! Check them out!
That is all for my August favorites! What have you loved this past month? Let me know by commenting down below or sending me an email!
Hope you enjoyed! Talk to you soon!
